About this studio

Rise Bodyworks is a full-service two-floor facility that offers small group training, personal training, private Pilates sessions, and wellness treatments (chiropractic, Swedish and deep tissue massage, active release technique, acupuncture, and physiotherapy). They offer an array of small group training classes, including Pilates (Reformer, Jumpboard, and Mat), Cardio Yoga, Cardio Hip Hop, Kickboxing, HIIT, Strength Training, Zumba, Barre, and more! All classes are mixed-level taught by certified teachers with the ability to provide guidance and modifications towards your needs.

How to prepare

Please wear comfortable workout attire and athletic shoes. For yoga and Pilates: shoes are not necessary, socks are optional. Mats and hand-towels are available for use. Showers and day-use lockers are on site (note-padlocks are not provided). Upon arriving for class, check in at the front desk and go upstairs. -Group X Studio (entry door next to wall-mounted whiteboard) -Group Training Area (black-floored open area) -Group Pilates Room (entry door next to gray shoe cubbies)

How to get there

Rise Bodyworks is located at 1226 Park Street. in Alameda, between San Jose Ave. & Encinal Ave. There is no patron parking lot. Metered parking is available on Park Street. Non-metered parking can be found on nearby residential streets.

Group X: HIIT Class with Derek
Good workout; however the pacing seemed off. He keeps the class together and wants everyone to finish at the same time. I’m a fit person and in great shape, so I used more weight than other participants, which took me longer to complete the exercises than the other participants who appeared to fly through it all. He then called time, but I was only halfway through my last series of exercises. I continued working out even though the rest of the class was stretching; I want a full workout regardless of what others in the class are doing.

Class was great. Nice reformers and a large studio space. Parking was difficult.

This workout felt really outdated. The music played with the counting built in turned me off. There was also a dog in the class and they let the dog sit on workout equipment. Didn't feel sanitary at all.

What is ClassPass?
