About this class

Part boxing, part cardio, part strength & conditioning, and a heavy dose of tough love! Class may include heavy bag work, mitt work, partner drills, dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight exercises, HIIT drills, and jogging indoors or outdoors. You will push yourself harder than you thought possible and feel ready to tackle the world when it’s over! Equipment needed: Jump rope, wraps, and gloves Prerequisite info: You must have taken our Beginner Boxing 1 and 2 classes before signing up for this class.

How to prepare

PLEASE NOTE: Everyone must take both “Beginner Boxing 1” and “Beginner Boxing 2” before any other boxing classes. These classes introduce you to our punch system, will help prevent injuries, and ensure the best experience for you and others, so they are required (even if you’ve boxed at other gyms previously)! EQUIPMENT IS NOT INCLUDED with your ClassPass reservation. You can rent or buy at the front desk, or bring your own :)

How to get there

Located at 2576 3rd Street in San Francisco's historic Dogpatch neighborhood, between 22nd and 23rd Streets. Street parking only. Readily accessible via the Muni T Line.

Tough Love with Paul
Why didn’t we hit the bags? That is the most endorphin and dopamine releasing part of these classes. Is it bc we had more people than bags? If so I suggest 2 people per bag. It is still heavy cardio!
Tough Love with Jaime
I have been to many Tough Love classes at 3rd Street and this was the first time with Jaime.. Though he's more technical than some of the other instructors, the class was anything but 'tough'. The whole time I kept thinking that I should have trained by myself vs taking this class.

Love this class but it’s starting to get overcrowded, which shows you just how much everyone loves it, but also making it hard to get the full impact of your workout.

Keep in mind, as noted in our profile and class description, required equipment is NOT included in your Classpass reservation. We always have gloves to rent or buy at the front desk if you don't have your own :)

Great music and really organized instructor. Wish I had known there would be kick boxing elements ahead of time as Im bit a fan of kickboxing and I'm sure there people would have been happy to see that on the schedule!
