About this class
Although all levels of experience are welcome, THIS CLASS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR YOUR FIRST OR SECOND VISIT! You will work on the basic punches and kicks, and work up a great sweat. Classes usually consist of some combination of jump rope, calisthenics, push-ups & plank, functional warm-ups, shadow boxing, focus mitt drills, Thai pad drills, kicking drills, bag work and other partner drills. Kickboxing is an informal modern martial art that combines the basics of boxing (hand techniques and movement) with the powerful kicks, knees and elbow strikes of Muay Thai. Kickboxing techniques are practical and useful, classes make you fitter and stronger, and you’ll burn hundreds of calories without even thinking about it!

How to prepare
First time students MUST arrive 15 MINUTES EARLY in order to fill out a form, sign a waiver, and if necessary get help with their hand wraps. No late users will be admitted to class. In order to participate, all Kickboxers need to have hand wraps and 12oz boxing gloves. If you do not have your own, we will provide hand wraps for $11.00 + tax, and rent gloves for $1.00. No equipment is required for Boot Camp or Core Thirty classes.

Hwa Rang Kwan is located at 90 Welsh Street, which is an alley off 4th between Bryant and Brannan.
