About this class

An innovative blend of partner yoga, acrobatics and thai massage, acroyoga is a great way to practice trust, communication and connection, while discovering all sorts of fun ways two bodies can interact. Get ready to have fun, play with others, and get a great workout too! No experience or partner necessary, although a foundational physical practice of yoga or some other modality is a plus. *If you're planning on attending, help us out by signing up beforehand (online or with the MBO app). Classes with low attendance may be cancelled, while classes with high attendance may bring an co-teacher to assist students.

How to prepare

Aerial Silks can burn, so please bring proper coverage. Fitted pants that cover the back of the knees and a long shirt that can be tucked in are suggested for beginners. As you progress, it is advisable to buy a leotard, but it is not necessary for intro classes. All classes are barefoot. No rings or dangly jewelry.

How to get there

The building is a light periwinkle blue and the door to buzz in is to the right of the main Kryolan Retail/make up store. Ring buzzer #302 and someone will allow you in. If you are coming from Howard St. headed towards Mission, we are on the left second building from Mission (between Kryolan & Panorama). There is two-hour paid parking surrounding the building until 6:30 on weekdays, free on Sunday. If attending a class at night please do not leave valuables in your car.

Acroyoga (All Levels) with Jeremy
Challenging, almost to the point of intimidation. Ive only ever played around with acroyoga before, so perhaps I just thought entry level could be easier in some ways, but it was good to try new poses. Good to meet other folks for teams, especially to play around with other strength levels. Felt a bit rushed at times, but may have been a big group for everyone to work through each pose in each position. Motivated to go back!

First time doing acroyoga and felt 100% safe the whole time. Ian was a great instructor.

The receptionist was rude and refused to honor a coupon

Class with fine. The progressions move quickly and there isn't enough time to get multiple reps in and feel comfortable. Not exactly a "workout" but you do get a bit of a stretch and some ab conditioning in.
Acroyoga (All Levels) with Mikka
Its better if you go with a partner or two. Otherwise you get to do carry poses with strangers. Needs a little more one to one direction.
Acroyoga (All Levels) with Mikka
Mika is an excellent instructor. She demonstrated the poses and how we would get into them and then we tried it out with our partners. Some us got into groups of 3 and one person would be the spotter and we would take turns being base and flying. Mika went around and helped people. You dont need to bring a partner because you can pair up with other people. Foam floor, no need for a yoga mat. Mika told us the hour after class, from 7-8, is open so you can just stay another hour and keep practicing. Studio is really nice too.

Great class, only complaint is it went 15 minutes over and the end felt like a sales presentation at the end
