About this class

InnerYoga (pure yin) is a therapeutic approach to yoga. It invites deep inner listening and inspires the cultivation of the four foundations - awareness, kindness, breath, and ease- throughout the practice. This profoundly nourishing class supports the vibrancy and harmony of the body-mind through a variety of gentle practices rooted in ancient wisdom traditions. These include yin yoga, restorative poses, jin shin jyutsu,pranayama, Buddhist meditative practices and more. InnerYoga (pure yin) classes are potent yet extremely restful with little to no active elements in the practice sequence. The philosophy and methodology of InnerYoga is deeply influenced by psychoneuroimmunology – the scientific understanding of the body-mind as the interaction between psychological processes and the nervous and immune systems. InnerYoga classes are full of tools that we can bring directly off our mat and into our lives to care more skillfully and compassionately for our well being – body, heart, spirit and mind.

Very relaxing, but also very slow. Don't expect a class full of movement or focused stretching. It's more about letting your body rest.

Great instructor and overall very relaxing class. There was a significant amount of time spent in corpse pose and it would have been nice to have a few more rest pose variations.

Felt super relaxed and ready for bed after this class. not quite yin, not quite yoga nidra.

I appreciate this class/studio, but its just not for me. The space is a bit awkward, a very long narrow room with the teacher way up on the end opposite the entry point. There are cubbies for your things next to this door, but all of the props are located way at the opposite side which means you have to weave over people to get to them. This class is dimly lit, making it even more difficult to do if you arrive after the lights are lowered. When the teacher instructed those who did not have them to get our props, he did not mention what we needed, which resulted in having to weave around/over people twice when I was missing one. The teacher was great about providing adjustments. However he spoke continuously through the whole class, which I found distracting and counter to the yin inner focus of the class. I would however note that he was not just chattering, what he said was interesting. Perhaps though saying about 50% less would allow the students to really take it in.

This is a very relaxing class focused on slow stretching and breathing. I just did half dome and was looking for a gentle class to stretch out my muscles and this was perfect! You only do a couple poses during class, but you hold them for a longer period of time. Instructors voice was very calm and soothing and I enjoyed the ambient music.
