About this class

Founded by Sharon Gannon and David Life and recognized around the world, Jivamukti Yoga is a “full-spectrum” yoga experience celebrating yoga as a path to enlightenment. The All-levels class shares classical yoga teachings relevant to life on and off the mat, drawn from a monthly spiritual Focus, supported by flowing vinyasa sequences, chanting, breath awareness, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation. All classes include 14 magic ingredients woven into a sequence creatively designed by the teacher. Exuberant, eclectic music plays an integral role. Jivamukti is headquartered in New York City, with thriving studios in London, Munich, Berlin, Barcelona, Moscow, Sydney and in Mexico.

They overbook their weekend classes. Its mat to mat making it difficult to move, relax or enjoy the class. More of a profit center than yoga studio.
Jivamukti Vinyasa with Terri
15 minutes of chanting, 20 minutes of savasana, the actual flow was choppy and the teacher made students hold postures for way too long. When we were in shoulder stand she read a story that lasted for like 5 minutes! Worst part was the story had no point to it. Overall way too spiritual and not a workout if thats what youre after.

Immersive and moving experience thats not too overboard in the Yogi-Overload sense. Nothing but good vibes in that room!

Amanda is a great instructor and the class was focused on both form and vinyasa style.

Wow what an inspiring teacher and great workout! Nice mix of flow, poses, chanting and teachings. Only downside is that the studio only has two changing rooms, so best to change before you arrive!

Great class! Challenging and fun. I leaned a lot. It is quick and dynamic.

Thought this class was gonna be a piece of cake with the calm intro and chanting. NOT. Terri really challenged us. Everyone was sweaty and happy at the end. There was a good amount of hands on adjustment - she didn't overcorrect or focus on me but did step in the help me do a headstand when she saw me struggling, which was great.

I love Amanda's classes! She always bring so much more than just asana. There is chanting, meditation, and always a strong theme to the class.
