About this studio

The Bar Method® is a one-hour, non-impact total body workout. It starts with a warm-up, free-weight exercises and push-ups and then moves on to intense, isometric leg work at the bar, followed by abdominal work at the bar and on mats. Every exercise includes active stretching to elongate the targeted muscles. The Bar Method is a challenge to both your cardiovascular system and your muscle strength, delivering a high level of overall fitness.

How to prepare

Preparation for your first class is easy, all you need is a pair of socks that cover the entire foot (we recommend grippy socks!), exercise pants that fall to the knee or below (compression shorts must be worn underneath if pants are loose fitting), and tops that cover midriff and waistband of pants. Read more here: http://downtownsf.barmethod.com/our-studio/policies/#toggle-id-4 If this is your first class, it may feel strange, unique, and exhilarating. This is totally normal! Like anything new, it can take a few classes to really hit your stride. Once you do, we know you are going to love the changes you feel in your body, and the new friends you’ll make.

How to get there

Once you arrive to the Embarcadero Center 3, please take the escalator to the second level and make a left. The Bar Method is located on the right hand side. Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can get you properly set up and introduce you to your instructor! New students who arrive after class has commenced will not be able to take class.

What is ClassPass?
