About this class

Fuel's Barre class is a high-energy class set to music. A full body workout begins with a warm up/stretch, moves onto planks & ab work on the mat, progresses to arms and then legs & glutes at the barre. We will move in all ranges of motion with the precision of pilates and the flow of a dance class. Class will challenge balance, stamina and muscle control. Our cardio section may include some jumping, but modifications are always given. Good to know: Sticky socks required, bring a towel or rent one for $1! Prerequisite Notes: No prior experience is necessary although this is a high-energy class so some exercise experience is advised. Pre-natal clients may participate but you MUST inform the instructor so she can provide necessary modifications. Please let the instructor know if you have any injuries.

How to prepare

For health & safety reasons, Fuel Pilates requires that clients wear socks for class. They recommend "sticky" socks which can be purchased in-studio for $14.

How to get there

Make sure you double check the address before going to the studio! It has moved full time to its new location at 2934 M Street NW. The entrance to the studio is on 30th Street.

Sara was encouraging and fun, and the class was small and allowed for more personal feedback. Good energy, relatively challenging, and some incorporation of traditional ballet exercises as well.

Julie was great at re-introducing me to barre after a long hiatus. Tough but fun workout!

This class is INTENSE. Hardest barre class I've ever taken. I was sweating a lot the whole time - so this may be the type of barre class you're looking for. Lots of jumps (including burpees), cardio, and dance elements. I enjoyed the class but I think it's too much of an overall cardio workout for me; I'm more looking for toning/building of specific muscle groups. That said, Kelly is super warm and professional, and the music was awesome!

Sara is a great teacher but the new class type since the studio left Xtend is boring, anti climatic, weird start, not fun, and i would recommend it for a nursing home. Hate to write this, but it just sucked.

What is ClassPass?
