    Glutes & Abs - VIRTUAL CLASS

    It’s a class with other students but the teacher does the workout in front of her iPad so you don’t see in person attendees. It was a good class- you’ll just have to play your own music because he’s doesn’t really come through over the iPad but don’t want to mute her because she’ll make comments about the moves and know she won’t really be watching you, more just demoing the whole class which is also helpful.

    Incredible class! I feel like I’m a few inches taller after that amazing stretch session.     As a personal trainer, dancer and a person who studies movement for a living - She was so knowledgeable - it’s so important to use terminology and to know what muscles you’re working in every movement, what to not do to prevent injury, etc- , esp when leading a class. She was excellent, yall! Kicked our butts from the start of the class. She challenges you bur gives the class modifications.     Overall I enjoyed the class. The strength-based programming was spot on to target the day’s muscle groups, and everyone in the class was supportive to each other. The instructor seemed knowledgeable, but I don’t fully understand his shoe choice — the shoes were hideous and I’m not too sure how they were the correct choice for demonstrating the workout, all things considered. I also enjoyed the water fountain inside the fitness space, which allows both for filling up a water bottle and just drinking normally.

    So so great! Brandon went over the basics at the top of the class, so absolutely newbies to boxing (like me!) shouldn’t fear! The class incorporated aspects like cardio and core training on top of the boxing techniques. Our class size was only 5 people, which was great for the one-on-one periods with each person. Brandon was excellent at tailoring the individual sparring periods to each person’s level, and slowly raising the bar as he sees you improving. This was great because while I was definitely feeling the challenge of getting used to things, I could also see regular attendees feeling challenged as well! The environment was not intimidating at all, so I would absolutely recommend first-timers with interest to try it out!!

    Love Bodymass. Most COVID safe gym I’ve been to (5 ppl/semi private, individual squat racks for distance, everyone masked). All the trainers are knowledgeable & help you push yourself while maintaining safety and good form. Also, the small class size means you get to choose what to work on each day (there are 2 upper, lower and total body workouts available each week) & the trainers are very available to help you make modifications based on your body/injuries/etc, offer adjustments or just answer questions. Woody’s also a great trainer! My first class I mentioned to Woody that I had an issue with my shoulders, and since then he’s routinely checked in to make sure I can complete exercises safely and build strength around the joint. Also, as a woman doing strength training you sometimes encounter men in the gym who underestimate your knowledge or strength but Woody is the total opposite of that. He treats you with respect and encouragement and helps you challenge yourself.

    This is a cute little studio with friendly staff. The spin classes have a much more intimate feel than many other studios given the small space, small number of bikes, and lack of darkness. I enjoyed this class, but I'm not sure I would call it a "sculpt" class. It seemed like a pretty standard spin class to me. This studio has one shower, but no towels, hairdryer, or basic toiletries, so make sure to bring that stuff with you if you want to shower after class.

    This was a great class. Lauren (and a support team member) gave excellent form correction throughout class to make it feel like a private class in a group training setting. This was a durability day—80% efforts—so it was a grind but a good sweat. There are 5 stations that you complete with heavy weights and there are a few different levels of weight difficulty which makes you able to tailor your workout for your level. Will be back!     I love everything about this gym. I am trying to get back into better shape after two years of rarely exercising (pandemic woes) and this is the perfect place. TRAINERS: I think I’ve trained with nearly all of the trainers at this point and they’re all top-notch and everything you’d (or, at least I) want in a trainer— pushes me to work my hardest, encouraging, knowledgeable, willing to make corrections (I’ve experienced far too many gyms that may demonstrate proper form, but barely pay attention to the participants and don’t really correct form). THE WORKOUT: It’s typically some form of a circuit and is what you’d expect in a boot camp type class— some cardio, some strength, some weight, some body weight, some abs, etc. FITNESS LEVEL: This is truly for all fitness levels. Despite years of training previously, my lack of exercise during the pandemic has put me back to “beginner status.” The trainers will modify absolutely everything… and if you need to modify something, this isn’t one of those gyms where you’ll be the odd person out… the participants are of all ages and ability levels, so there’s usually at least a couple people that may need a modification of some form and it’s really no big deal. THE PEOPLE: Both the staff and other participants are super friendly. There classes are full of “regulars,” but don’t let that discourage you— they are absolutely open to meeting new people, befriending you, and carrying on conversation… and converting you to a “regular” too. Actually, put another way, if you like a gym class where you’re just a number and can get lost in the crowd, this probably isn’t the place for you. Everyone from the gym’s manager to all the trainers in the gym to the participants are all genuinely interested in getting to know you. FINAL THOUGHTS: If you’re in doubt, I’d really encourage you to give it a try!
