Kathryn has a very focused approach to leading practice, with clear concise descriptions of poses and modifications. I took the 6:30 AM class and left feeling calm, yet invigorated and ready for the day.

Gentle transitions, but not easy. Great instructor. Very crowded.

Partner work required multiple times throughout the class. I am confident I am not alone in feeling that a mandatory exercise in which a stranger kneels in front of your crotch interferes with the meditative value of a yoga class. There was not an opt out option.

Kathryn has a soothing voice and great cues. Intermediate class that provides a good stretch.

Instructor confused right/left throughout class. Which I imagine is a hard part of teaching but is important. It was distracting from the flow.

About this studio

Seattle Yoga Arts offers heart-infused flow classes at a moderate pace to allow time to sense inwardly and find optimal alignment in each pose. SYA is NOT a hot studio, but is kept at a comfortable temperature for practice. Our body nourishing, soul satisfying and sanity supporting yoga is a product of the time-tested and evolving wisdom of our talented instructors. We teach to your real body and the heart that lives in it.

How to prepare

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your class begins. There is no charge to borrow a yoga mat, use the towels or mat spray, or enjoy the filtered water or teas. Wear clothes that are not overly baggy, but comfortable enough for you to freely move. SYA is a scent-free studio and asks that you refrain from using perfume, artificial fragrances, or fragrant lotions on your body or yoga gear.

What is ClassPass?

ClassPass is a new kind of gym membership that grants you access to thousands of different classes at studios and gyms in your city and around the world.
