Where do I begin with describing Mara’s class? First of all - she’s my favorite instructor. Her authenticity and genuine care for every single person in the room really shows through her coaching. She has incredible choreo that is challenging, but not overly complicated, all set to musical BANGERS. Not to mention, the classes are hard but so worth it, and will make you feel so accomplished afterwards. She is such a bright ray of sunshine and makes every single class feel special and like a *moment*. She also makes you feel seen and really makes an effort to connect with her riders, which not every teacher does. She creates magic in every class and you can tell how much her clients adore her - just by looking around the room today there were so many smiles. If you haven’t been to her class yet you are clearly hiding under a rock. She’s the best instructor at CC and there’s a reason her classes sell out quickly. Thank you ALWAYS for your contagious energy Mara! You are a gem.

For the other Barry’s classes I’ve taken, there are often people looking around confused because the demos are very limited so people aren’t sure to do. I attended the 06:30 class and found easy street parking (free parking before 08:00!). When I arrived, there was clear signage, and I was greeted by Breezy, who was friendly and informative and checked me in swiftly. The studio is slightly underground with some construction going on outside, and it is located by a street. The lobby is very warm and cozy with vaulted ceilings. There are showers and changing rooms in the back, but I was in floaty mode after the practice and forgot to explore them. There are wood cubbies and benches to place shoes and belongings. The studio is locked when in session, so everything is secure while in class. The actual studio where we practice yoga is a plain white room with appropriate mood lighting and some fauna. It was heated and a very enclosed space but had plenty of room for everyone. Breezy’s instruction was easy to understand and allowed fluid transitions between poses as well as flexibility in choosing our own transitions and variations. It was what I needed today. =]

Great first full instruction, Jessica!! I enjoyed the class. A couple small suggestions to improve -- first, try to match the movements to the music a bit more, it really helps us to stay aligned & present. Second, my heart didn't really beat harder during the cardio song, so maybe crank that up a bit. Overall I had a lovely class and don't doubt at all that Jessica will be a very successful instructor!
