This is a good class, and I like how she goes around to help beginners. The one thing that is a serious safety hazard is that a lot of new people do their boxers sit-ups far outside of their circle, and they run the risk of getting hurt by the people around them. It also risks hurting those of us who are inside the circle. There should be an announcement made in the beginning of class that this is where you should be seated for these. I almost hurt someone just because she was almost a full foot above her designated space. I hope this is fixed soon because this has been pretty consistent over the last few months but wasn’t a problem before.

This class kicked my butt in the best way. From start to finish, I was challenged. Harrison is an incredible instructor - he gave a high energy class, a mix of warm ups, conditioning, bag work, and 1:1 mitt work with him. I really enjoyed working on combos with the mitts - it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I sincerely appreciated the calculated feedback he gave me on my form, posture, and punches. I would mess up a combo and get in my head and he was extremely encouraging. The regulars at this club are extremely nice and welcoming. The space has everything you need - lockers, towels, a bathroom and a shower. I brought my own gloves and wraps but it looked like they had gloves there, too. I highly recommend this class for beginners looking to get in shape and learn more about boxing technique and form. I’ve been to other gyms where no technique was taught, which could lead to injury, but BOXst is very hands on in that aspect. Thank you for the great class, Harrison! I look forward to taking another class here.
