New Aerie Advertisements Feature Models Proudly Displaying Their Differences

Once again, Aerie shows the world what beauty really looks like. In the ad campaign for their most recent collection, the brand not only celebrates beauty in all shapes and sizes, but includes women with disabilities, conditions and illnesses too.

The advertisement features an assortment of beautiful women including a model with Down Syndrome and a model rocking an insulin pump to truly spread the message that beauty isn’t a one size fits all kind of thing.

Gaylyn Henderson, the model who appeared in the ad with her ostomy bag told Today that, “Having the support of an influential brand like American Eagle to promote positive ostomy awareness has already changed lives, and I know this because of the feedback I am seeing and receiving.” The models were chosen after answering an open call and submitting a video.

Jennifer Foyle, Aerie global brand president said that “As a brand, Aerie has been a leader in empowering women and celebrating inclusivity and body positivity since our launch of #AerieREAL in 2014. Our newest bra models are part of our brand’s ongoing commitment to show real, authentic and unretouched women, who are at the core of everything that we do.”
