If you had to convince someone to sign up for ClassPass with you, what would you tell them?

I’ve recruited a lot of my friends into the ClassPass fam! I just make sure they know that there’s something for everyone and not every class will be for them. It takes a little time to find your go-tos! I usually go with a friend if it’s their first class and make sure it’ll be one of my favorite instructors teaching so they feel really comfortable.

Which are your favorite classes?

Dr. Pilates is my fave! I also love Flywheel, Modo Yoga, Claudia Martin Studio and Ballet Bodies.

How did you celebrate your 100th class?

I tweeted about it – and then took my 101st class. 🙂

What’s your favorite post-class snack?

I love a post-class smoothie – something with peanut or almond butter in it. Or avocado toast. Or scrambled eggs. Or a burrito! Okay, now I’m just getting ahead of myself.

If there’s one piece of advice you could give to a ClassPass newbie, what would it be?

Don’t compare yourself to anyone else in the class and if you’re nervous, connect with the instructor before class so you get a little extra attention. Nothing feels worse than struggling through a class and not knowing if you’re doing something right.

Which are your favorite classes?

There are so many great studios on the Upper East Side – EVF Performance, Exceed, New York Yoga, Kickbox Haus! In the Union Square area, Circuit of Change and Brick are my go-to’s.

Why did you join ClassPass?

ClassPass is a really fun way to explore NYC. I live in Manhattan and work in Brooklyn and I’ve tried classes in almost every neighborhood along my commute. With ClassPass, I can always find a class nearby. ClassPass is also a great way to try classes that you wouldn’t normally try. While I have a lot of favorite studios, I also try to mix it up and try new things, which keeps me interested and motivated! I can’t believe I forgot to mention the on demand videos, which I am really looking forward to using this summer when I’m on vacation at my family summer home in Maine.

How did you celebrate your 100th class?

I’ve been to over 700 classes at this point, so I can’t quite remember what I did to celebrate my 100th, but I think that I need to plan a big celebration for my 1000th!

What’s your favorite post-class snack?:

Babybel cheese or smoked almonds and raw red pepper, or mini whole wheat pita bread with hummus or low sodium turkey.

If there’s one piece of advice you could give to a ClassPass newbie, what would it be?

Don’t be intimidated by classes that seem “too hard,” good instructors know how to help you scale the workout. I’ve found that what instructors seem to appreciate the most are students who are enthusiastic and willing to try!

Hard to believe 600 classes since May 2014. If you had asked me then if that many classes was possible, I would have answered no! But here I am two years later and pretty pumped by what I’ve accomplished and even more excited by how great I feel (emphasis on feeling great that’s the most important result, no numbers on a scale or sizes on jeans can compete). Thanks to all my friends who supported and encouraged me and thanks to all the amazing studios and teachers who continue to inspire and challenge me and of course, thanks #classpass for expanding my concept of what is possible. It is time to get moving, you won’t regret it. #lifeisforliving #getmoving #ibelieveinyou #youcandoit #oneclassatatime #plankitout #classpassnyc #fitnessfun #yougotthis #squatchallenge #notimelikenow #sweatitout #shrinksession #evfperformance #circuitofchange #newyorkyoga #flywheel #themovement #themovementfitnessstudio #themovementfitness #bfxstudio #kickboxhaus #shrinksession #exceedphysicalculture #exceed #bricknyc #aktinmotion

If you had to convince someone to sign up for ClassPass with you, what would you tell them?

I actually have convinced friends and coworkers to join me on numerous occasions. I typically explain to them how amazing the freedom is to explore our beautiful city while finding both new studios to love and also different types types of workouts. ClassPass is especially great for beginners and first timers who don’t know what forms of exercise they enjoy most. (It’s how I got started with my fitness journey!) The ability to push yourself out of your comfort zone and conquer the unknown is invaluable to me. I also tend to re-assure them that most class go-ers are more concerned about themselves than anybody else around them so it’s okay to not fully master a specific pose or workout just yet. You’ll get there! Have fun, give it a shot, and embrace the unknown.

Which are your favorite classes?

Studio 543, Cycle614, Seven Studios, The Dharma House, Thank Yoga, Yoga Six

How did you celebrate your 100th class?

For my 100th class, I actually celebrated by taking BodyShred at Seven Studios (with the owner, Julie Wilkes). BodyShred was actually my very first class I ever took on ClassPass way back at the end of September 2016. I typically attend this class every Monday, but it was extra exciting that it happened to be #100. I celebrated the end of class with a hug from Julie (instructor/owner) as she announced my achievement to the whole class. Then. of course I went home and immediately poured a glass of wine.

What’s your favorite post-class snack?

There’s nothing better than some good ol’ scrambled eggs after a 6 a.m. Hot Vinyasa class.

If there’s one piece of advice you could give to a ClassPass newbie, what would it be?

Take the time to try as many different studios and types of workouts as possible. Explore, explore, explore. You’d be surprised by not only what you’re capable of, but what you may fall in love with. And SMILE in class – let your energy flow to others whenever possible 🙂

Amelia Florence Simmons from London

If you had to convince someone to sign up for ClassPass with you, what would you tell them?

I’d tell them that, quite simply, ClassPass changed my life! Working out regularly has changed my body but most importantly helped me manage stress and create a balance in an otherwise hectic life. I’ve also made some amazing friends and had a lot of fun! Making the decision to sign up also sparked a lot of other positive changes in my life, and it all began with ClassPass.

Which are your favorite classes?

Louisa Drake Method at the Detox Kitchen, 1Rebel, BestCycle, Good Vibes, Battersea Yoga

How did you celebrate your 100th class?

Wow, I wish I could remember that far back as I’m at over 220 now! I’m pretty sure I bought some new workout wear, because I’d finally proven to myself that I could actually stick at working out for more than three months at a time.

What’s your favorite post-class snack?

Give me a protein shake with nut butter and a shot of espresso in and I’ll be a happy girl.

If there’s one piece of advice you could give to a ClassPass newbie, what would it be?

When you’re first starting your ClassPass journey, try EVERYTHING. Variety is king. This is the perfect time to try your hand at whatever takes your fancy – when I first started, I did everything from reformer Pilates to aerial yoga to 80s aerobics, via bootcamp, trapeze, trampolining and spin. You’ll probably be surprised at what you end up enjoying, and consistently pushing your comfort zone further is part of what makes ClassPass great

Not my usual kind of post, so forgive me the length! Exactly a year ago today, I joined @classpass and went to my first ever class at @paolasbodybarre. It was TOUGH and at the time all I could see was what my body couldn’t do rather than what it could. It was the most out of shape I’d been in my life, and I was so uncomfortable in my own skin. The first few months were a huge struggle, and I remember being frustrated a lot. Having to confront my own body and limitations in front of a mirror made me feel worse at first – and then suddenly, I started to progress. A year on, exercising is one of my favourite things to do, and I’m so happy I stuck with it. This journey has changed my life, mentally and physically. I love my body and what it can do today, and that started with just getting up and going to that first class. #fitfam #workout #progress #motivation #workoutversary #classpass #classpasslondon #louisadrakemethod #moveyourframe #morningabs #nike #workoutclothes #workoutaddict #fitspo #fitgirls #fitnessjourney #gym #strongnotskinny #progresspic #abs #sortof
