ClassPass Book of the Week: The Non-Love Story, Love Story

Technically this book is labeled “young adult” but no matter how old you are, there’s no way you won’t fall in love with these characters and this story. Sutter, the main character is both lovable and infuriating. His story is truly a page-turner.

Who Would Love This Book:

If you’re into romance novels but prefer something a bit more realistic than fairytale.

Synopsis in 140 characters or less:

The most popular guy in high school somehow finds himself invested in a social outcast. An unexpected relationship is formed.

Why You Should Read It:

While the title may lead you to believe that something spectacular or out of the ordinary happens, the opposite is actually true. The story of Sutter and a girl from his school, Aimee, is surprisingly quite typical.

While I wouldn’t exactly categorize this as a love story, their relationship is fascinating to read because it just seems so real. When I read this book I was so conflicted about my feelings toward these characters; Did I love him? Did I hate him?

What I do know is that this story may leave you wanting more. When you’re done reading the book, make sure you see the movie adaptation with Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller.
