If you’re looking for a workout that feels less like a chore and more like a high-performance event, you need to book a class with Marsel. He’s earned a reputation at One Academy for bringing an amazing amount of energy! Don't be surprised if you catch him dancing mid-set to keep the vibes high. But what makes Marsel truly unique isn't just the hype; it’s his 'technical strength' mindset. Marsel is meticulous. He has a sharp eye for detail, constantly guiding form and progressions to ensure you're getting the best results without risking injury. He perfectly balances being a 'butt-kicker' with being incredibly supportive, helping you smash through mental and physical limits you didn't know you had. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting out, his ability to adapt the intensity while keeping the movement technically sound is world-class."

As a first timer I wasnt a fan of how the floor had no clear division. Felt like everyone was on top of each other. Also didnt like the issue of weight selection for the floor people before being explained the exercises. Someone came and took my 25s from my rack (i started on weights) and i didnt realise I needed them until we started and there were none on empty weight racks nearby.

    The Frame

Hardest I think I’ve worked in a Pilates class anywhere in the city so far? Really enjoyed the movement progression and felt like the whole body was being used in a pretty balanced way. But: the class and instructor aren’t really designed to prioritize teaching alignment — too much going on and not a ton of space for modification — so the mover getting the most out of this class will already have the basics down and excellent form. Hope to be back more often once I’ve worked on alignment more!

Katie was a really good instructor - enthusiastic and she had good cues. She came around to check form often and I even got some hands on adjustments. The studio is really nice with lots of extras but the room is sooo large. And the choice to put a reformer right in front of the door as you walk is strange. If I wasn’t already familiar with Lagree the size of the class could be intimidating. And some of the form names are kind of funny hearing for the first time but it’s a good traditional Lagree work out and I would definitely come back for her class.

Not only was she patient with waiting for everyone to be set up before starting class, but throughout her class she would instruct on proper form and technique. As a casual spinner, I learned so much from her in this one class alone. She also has great energy and keeps the class motivated. It was just a lot of fun! I'm giving 5 stars because nothing was wrong with the class but it just wasn't my vibe which is okay! Studio was nice and spacious, the staff and the teacher were very friendly and welcoming. The class itself was different from other Barre classes I've done. I felt a bit confused and lost as a beginner. I also didn't love using a long foam roller as our bar for class, it felt unstable for me - but I get that the studio has to be creative with the space they have. I also didn't love the dance choreo section of class. As I said, still giving 5 stars because I think this class would be great for others, it's more of a me issue (:
