Sarah’s class was the toughest class I’ve very taken at Y7 (both around NYC and in LA). She had awesome, unique flow sequences and challenging modifications for advanced students. I appreciated her fast pace even during the “down time” in between flows. It felt like not a minute of class was wasted. I hope to find her on the UES schedule more often. Can’t wait to take a class with her again!

Charlotte was very welcoming. I appreciated that, b/c it was my first time taking a hot yoga class. She went through 3 different flow routines, and each one had 3 repetitions. First time thru, poses were held a little longer as she talked us through the movements. Second time thru, a bit quicker. Third time thru, she invited us to go at our own pace, taking the poses that most spoke to us from what she’d just led. It was during the 3rd time of each set that the music was cranked up high so we could just concentrate on our own moves and bodies. Candle-lit studio was very soothing. After this experience, which included lots of sweating, I am up for trying another hot yoga class! If you take this, just remember to hydrate during the class.

Loved this class! Ashley was an awesome leader. The flow was challenging and very well paced. I typically don’t like hot yoga but this was at a perfect level that made me feel more flexible and invigorated. And the music was everything!! Probably not for beginners but if you already like yoga, this is such a fun and unique way to take your practice to the next level.

Loved the flows, Michelle has a chill but direct voice, music was good, and loved the thoughtful insights at the end. Not into standing poses - and the studio is darker (in other words- a liiiiitle too dark) than soho’s, so the studio only gets 4 stars. Sorry. Overall the best yoga studio in the city. IMO

Julie is wonderful, her energy was welcoming and a little sassy (which I love) and her class was challenging and fun! The mat/towel rental situation is not acceptable for a hot yoga class: $4 gets you a plain yoga mat and a crappy white gym towel that digs into your hands like gravel and bunches up under your feet at the slightest of movements. So...bring your own stuff!

She is the best instructor there hands down. Fortunately most the instructors are good. The Class was small today due to a holiday weekend and the energy she possessed was excellent for just five students. She cared about every student their form and making sure it was a hard and challenging class. I always feel like I get my moneys worth and leave feeling like I got an incredible work out. Really beautiful space, and amazing products! It definitely feels like more of an experience with the ambience. And the room wasn’t too hot - it was just right to help get the blood flowing. Figure 4 Barre (Open)

Not sure if this class was so challenging because I haven’t done barre in ages or if it’s just all around tough. It kicked my butt. (And this is coming from someone who does hardcore boxing and takes reformer/megaflrmer at BodyRok and Solidcore). The instructor’s personality annoyed me (can’t put my finger on why). But she was a phenomenal instructor. Highly recommend and will def be back. We did FULL body toning with a ton of focus on the thighs. The least amount of focus was on abs.IMPORTANT: there are no locks on the lockers. You have to bring your own. Makes no sense but whatever.

HOT HIIT 60 - Doors Lock 5 Min Before

My first time taking this class with Samuel because his class is always full - he’s amazing!! This is the hardest hot hiit cardio pilates class I’ve ever taken, and he makes it super fun, hilarious and positive. His class starts with the tough HIIT cardio stuff first followed by more classic pilates moves at the end, which works better for me because I have the most energy in the beginning of the class (some other instructors are the opposite, it’s really up to your preference). His music is also mostly fun 90s throwbacks. Highly recommend!

Top 40 and tabata style class. A far cry from alignment-focused pilates, laughably so. Not my thing at all and definitely not what I was expecting, to be honest I couldn’t have disliked this more. BUT if you like this kind of thing (everyone else in class seemed to love it and it sells out often so there’s definitely an audience for it) then this is the place for you. It’s kind of like bar class meets HIIT. I would return to try one of the heated yoga offerings because the space is decent and well-maintained, and while this particular class didn’t resonate for me, the teacher was great for what it was.

Nice lunchtime flow. Some challenging moves but also not super quick paced. Other reviews mentioned heat—teacher said it was 77 degrees and personally I didn’t find it too hot, I did not break a sweat (which is ideal when I have to go back to work) but also my muscles felt worked and good stretch. Nice music. Tight busy space before and after class so come already in your workout clothes if possible and get ready to wait if you gotta change after

    Urban Warriors - Yoga

Really good class. No crazy poses so accessible to all levels but still challenging. The teacher had great little tips to improve form but she did not let corrections get in the way of keeping the flow moving. Also the studio is so nice.

Hot Vinyasa Flow - Doors Lock 5 Min Before

They keep this studio HOT. However Zak was so great about offering modifications, reminding us to rest if we needed to, etc that I didn’t even mind. Great hot yoga flow (and personally I prefer the bode flow to the bode bikram).

    Indoor Open Level Vinyasa

Jessica was wonderful! The music was lovely (I wish it was louder!) and the room was a little hot but I think it just added to the wonderful flow of the class. Thank you for a great workout and helpful adjustments!

    Surya Hot Flow

Most difficult class I’ve taken at Surya. Wouldn’t recommend for Level 1s, but it was a great challenge.

    Level 1-2

Jamie is warm and friendly. He focused a lot on alignment which was nice because in fast pace flow classes sometimes you forget or lose proper alignment I appreciated refocusing. Jamie's adjustments were fabulous and helpful.
