About this studio

The Bar Method® is a one-hour, non-impact total body workout. It starts with a warm-up, free-weight exercises and push-ups and then moves on to intense, isometric leg work at the bar, followed by abdominal work at the bar and on mats. Every exercise includes active stretching to elongate the targeted muscles. The Bar Method is a challenge to both your cardiovascular system and your muscle strength, delivering a high level of overall fitness.

How to prepare

1. New students must arrive 15 mins early 2. Socks that cover your whole foot, pants that cover your knee, as well as tops that cover your midriff are required (no shorts) 3. Only non-breakable water containers allowed 4. No gum or cell phones 5. Instructors may physically adjust your body or call your name out in class 6. New pregnant students must check in with instructor and staff prior to class to discuss modifications.

This class was hard/good but the instructor talked so much about everything except how to actually do the positions.

Having recently tried and hated barre at a different studio, I'm so glad I decided to try The Bar Method after reading it was more rooted in traditional dance techniques. The teacher was AMAZING, learning everyone's names and consistently correcting posture and alignment. The exercises were challenging and my legs were definitely shaky, but I never felt like I was no in control of my movements. A great workout!

What is ClassPass?
