An acrylic manicure is a great option for someone who’s looking to add length and strength to their nails. Acrylic nails are incredibly popular and versatile, allowing you to create dramatic nail shapes and statements! There are so many different styles (almond, squoval, coffin, stiletto – to name a few) and they are a great way to let your inner personality shine. Want to learn more about manicures in general? Read our manicure guide.

What is an acrylic manicure?

An acrylic manicure is a style of manicure where a false top is glued on top of your natural nail. This top is then shaped and colored to look like an extension of your natural nail. This style of manicure helps to elongate your nails and conceal or fix imperfections such as a broken nail. Acrylic nails require regular fills as your natural nails grow, and should not be removed without professional help.

If you’re interested in the look, but not sure if you want to fully invest, purchase some stick-on nails and test drive the overall look and feel!

How much do acrylic nails cost?

The cost of an acrylic manicure varies depending on where you’re located. However you can typically expect to pay between $55 and $80 for a new set of acrylics, and between $20 and $30 for an acrylic nail fill.

How long do acrylic nails last?

Acrylic nails can last a long period of time – up to six weeks! However the duration is dependent on the average growth of your natural nails, as well as the quality of the polish and application.

To ensure that your nails last as long as possible, keep your hands moisturized. Treating your nails gently and wearing gloves during housework such as dirty dishes will also help the nails last longer. Avoid using your acrylic nails to pop tabs on drinks and keep your hands above water during long baths.

Where can I get acrylic nails?

Most local salons and spas have acrylic nail services. If you’re interested in a specific spa, visit their website and look at their list of services. If you’re a ClassPass member, you can easily filter through the spa & beauty category to find nearby spas and local businesses, along with ratings and reviews from others who have already visited!
