    #HipHopWednesdays WeFlowHard Vinyasa Yoga

Love this class, but I have to comment on the locker room. Love that they have showers unlike their other locations and Malin and Goetz products. However, there have been a few times now where the products were empty in the showers and I had to wait naked, in a towel, in the coed locker room for them to refill. They also only have one hair dryer. For $20, it would be of significant value add to their clients. Final thing is I'd prefer if they gave out more than one towel. With a coed bathroom especially, where you need to dry off and change immediately after showering, one towel doesn't really do the trick.

This was my first core fusion barre class and experience at Exhale - both were top-notch. Class was challenging but leaves you feeling strong. Kat is awesome and gives you lots of personal attention and correction to form. Will definitely be back.

Great fundamentals class even if you’re an experienced yogi. Gina was very welcoming and seemed to be very attentive especially to the newbies. I enjoyed this class for a really good stretch but if you’re new to yoga, I think this would be a great start.

    Figure 4 Barre (Open)

Love Elizabeth's classes - from thighs to arms, abs + glutes, she manages to burn every bit of the body and doesn't leave anything out or cut any corners. Transitions are seamless as well - for thighs we went from upright small V into waterski, then high heeled 5th into round back chair, ending in wide 2nd. Appreciate that she incorporated back work into arms which some instructors bypass. Awesome!

    Hot Vinyasa Basics

Dana put together really great sequences for gently opening up the body and stimulating circulation. Really appreciated her encouraging energy and inspiring words at the beginning of class. Also loved that the studio has lots of windows that let in great natural light and found the scent of eucalyptus in the air refreshing. Front desk could’ve been warmer and more welcoming, but I guess even yogis need a day off from letting their inner light of love shine.

Wow. Agree with others about the fact Pure Yoga is harder than Physique. A great workout, excellent facilities and personalized instruction. Physique instructors feel more welcoming, but would still recommend this class to others!

    Hot Vinyasa I/II

This was a great class-- there was only one other student today, so we got lots of thoughtful support and guidance from Aby, who was very warm and knowledgeable. (I've found that, in general, the instructors at Five Pillars do more teaching and provide more personalized support than others.) The studio was bright, clean, relaxing, and just the right temperature.

Chic, clean studio. Conscientious and friendly instructor. Workout was very efficient and surprisingly challenging. Great location and workout length for pairing with a run in the park. I ran to class, did the workout, and ran home for a perfect blend of cardio and strength training. Only thing Id suggest is curating a more fun/motivational playlist to support the intensity of the workout. I use music as a mental crutch and had a hard time maintaining my effort with the mellow songs that were on in the background.

Wonderful class, wish I could wakeup each morning with this class.. hint, hint to the studio ;). Instructor was lovely as well. The only thing I would change is music that's morw relaxing, found it a little distracting in the first half of class but otherwise, loved this class, thanks!

    Gentle Yoga 1 w/ Music

This class was epic and life changing. Im not a Yoga expert and do it only occasionally but over the years Ive done at least 200-300 classes Id say so I have some experience and this was one of best classes Ive come across. I had pulled my back earlier this week, achey all over from a hard work week, plus some emotional issues going on too with family and relationship. This class just made me feel alive, zen, happy. It stretched everything but did not over exert, good vibes from Sara the teacher and other students, clean space and nice warm yogi tea. Perfect way to reenergize on this rainy cold day when Im just in a low spot right now. The best part was the emotional and mental clarity I got while we Layed last 10 min class in savasaana. Thank you! Cant even describe how much this class meant to me. May buy more credits just to do more classes with Sara at yogaworks.

    Melt

This class is an amazing find! Denise is a great MELT instructor—knowledgeable, thorough, caring. I have no idea how MELT works, but it’s an incredibly powerful tool for fixing body imbalances. After taking the class yesterday, I slept through the night without any of the painful knee locking that’s mysteriously popped up lately. It’s hard to find MELT sessions in NYC, so I’m grateful that BeFit is offering this one on ClassPass.

Only critique is that the studio should put some shades up on the window. During downward dog or any pose where your head faces back of the room, your staring at bright sunlight pouring in. Not the easiest on the eyes. Class itself was great though.

Great class! Julia was very knowledgeable and led us through a well-paced, intentional class that worked my muscles and left me feeling open and like I'd made progress/growth in my yoga. The studio is very simple - not fancy. No showers, and a small changing room. Mats available. I think it's been around for a long time and had a nice community feel. Glad to know about this studio on the UWS.

    Hatha Yoga

I’m giving 5 stars because I love the idea of outdoor yoga in the park and want these folks to continue and thrive, but I do have some suggestions for improving the class. First, the teacher should have a sign or some kind of marker to help people locate the class amid the hundreds of people milling around the meeting place. And the class should remain at the meeting place until 5 min before class, rather than walking off at 15 min before class to a remote part of Sheep’s Meadow. I arrived 12 min prior to class and couldn’t find anyone until class actually started and I saw a distant group in downward dog. During class, the teacher was hard to hear and seemed self-conscious about raising her voice over the sounds of the park. During transitions, it would be helpful if the teacher announced the names of the poses first, so experienced yogis can keep to a smooth flow, rather than going into detailed positioning for each limb for beginners and only later stating “warrior 2”.
