    Kandace is such an amazing instructor. She always gives very specific instructions and tips about ways to move individual muscles and body parts to better support your body and express the pose, in a way that pushes me but never shames me about my own body’s limitations. It’s a difficult balance, but she somehow manages to make me feel calm, strong and capable, even when I struggle. I always feel 10 times better when I leave her class and eager to come back.

    Room is not big but has a good variety of equipments (stair climbers, ski machines, treadmills, air bikes, squat stands, etc.). Love the structure of the class (7-min rounds of different workouts) it makes you busy and not bored. I’m a beginner for fitness classes and this is challenging but not impossible as you can use lighter weights. Tracy checked in with me a few times during the class knowing I’m new, teaching me how to use equipments, the right postures and the right muscles to use.

    Honestly adored this class! Definitely a strong sense of community with me being the only newbie and people were friendly and kind. This workout isn’t exactly beginner friendly because of all the different equipment used and the class size is large enough that it’s hard to get a ton of form critique or etc. But the environment is welcoming enough that I think that makes it easy to ask for help if you have questions. That being said because there were so many machines, you could tailor the experience exactly for your strength level and I feel like I got the best workout out of it for me which is awesome!

    I had a great time! The instructor and the person at the front desk were so welcoming and encouraging. During the class, the music wasn’t too loud and we got clear instructions on everything along with modifications to fit our needs.     I don’t think there’s a way for class passers to enter this gym in the morning since the front desk isn’t staffed before 9a, but I just waited outside in the cold until a nice member let me in. Then, I had no clue where to go. But I saw the instructor walk in (I saw his picture with name on the wall so knew it was him) and followed. The room for rise and grind is to the left. The gym is basic. The actual class was good. We did 4 x 10 of shoulder press & lateral raise, then 4x10 of RDL & rows, then squats & overhead triceps and core. I could have done a similar workout as open gym but really did appreciate the instructor’s personal attention and feedback. He called the group out a bit on the core section and made us repeat some reps - I love that kind of accountability and thought it pushed me harder, but I’ve read enough ClassPass reviews to know some people get really sensitive with that.
