    Vinyasa

Such a big, beautiful space and really fun, challenging flow. I didn’t think I would work up a sweat knowing I was going to be in a ballroom. But even with only 3 other classmates and the instructor, I was sweating quite a bit! I’m glad I brought a yoga mat towel with me. I’ll be bringing a sweat towel for my face for the next Vinyasa class. The instructor was really great about making sure our wrists and shoulders were warmed up before having us do headstands, and incorporated clear explanations on how to work up into a balancing pose and how to modify.

This class was great: fast-paced, energetic. Susan the instructor was very into and in sync with the music. She brought the energy. This was my first time taking BodyPump, and other members of the class were so kind and helpful in helping me get set up. I do recommend getting there 10-15 minutes early, as you do have to gather a bit of equipment for the class.

Instructor was lovely! Class was a standard vinyasa flow. I’m not a huge fan of the in-your-feels music because I go to yoga to escape the world and my mind, so would prefer more neutral music. Will definitely explore other classes here!

    Heated Vinyasa

I’ve taken robins class in Bellevue before and enjoy her challenging vinyasa flows so much that I decided to take her closer-to-home class here at hauteyoga QA. I’m still newish to yoga as I get back into the practice after so many years off and while her classes are quick-paced and challenging, they are still approachable for all levels. She typically provides an option in select poses for advanced yogis, but you are by no means required or pressured to go there. I really also enjoy these smaller class sizes. There were about 15 of us without much room for more. With a more intimate class size, I feel there’s more opportunity to interact with the instructor and get corrections and tips. Lastly, this studio being right on QA Ave I feel can be intimidating for those commuting to class because of the need to find street parking. However, even though this is always quite a busy street, so long as you plan to be 10-15 mins early, I’ve always been able to find a spot within 1-2 blocks of where I need to be. I recommend giving hauteyoga a try!
