see all reviewsHonestly this is my favorite class at Bodyrok! It’s the only megaformer class I can find in NYC to incorporate the jump board, which I really takes the workout up a notch. My only gripe with BodyRok in general is that there aren’t as many instructions on form, but Kristen was an exception. Having had rotator cuff surgery and tears in both shoulders, I really appreciated the options offered to modify each position to what works best for my body. Great class!

I feel stronger in vinyasa because of my traditional hot practice. And I feel more flexible in traditional Hot because of the Vinyasa practice. The two are so complimentary. My once a week practice turned into twice a week and now three times! I can’t get enough!

The focus is on being present and holding the sequence of postures despite the discomfort of the heat, so there’s a good amount of focus on balance and spatial awareness. Instructor gave good modifications and options for further challenge. The studio itself is just ok to be honest.

see all reviewsI thought I was in shape until this class. I usually work out 3 days a week doing HIIT classes, but this one kicked by butt. Super fast paced class with no breaks.! Expect to do high reps counts of exercises like lunges, squats, deadlifts, rows, tricep extensions etc with weights in hand and cardio bursts of jumping jacks, high knees, burpees, skiers and squat jumps. FYI, no locks for lockers so you have to bring your own or find a place to stash it in the workout studio room. Class size tonight was around 25 people.

see all reviewsThis is one of the best ashtanga yoga practices in the city. I’ve been to spirit lab, sui, fierce grace, new love city, Brooklyn yoga project, humming puppy, etc and practice all types of yoga, and I can say that this is one of the most calming, naturally-beautiful studios in Manhattan. There’s a garden that you can shower in- check it out after a day time class. The thing about ashtanga for yogis is that it’s almost like ballet for dancers… you need this to build a foundation. Even if you’re an experienced yogi, you should come and see how you feel after you practice. Notice the difference in your mood, nervous system, etc after this class vs some of the faster-paced vinyasa classes. Would highly reco checking it out and coming with an open mind!

see all reviewsIm giving 5 stars because I love the idea of outdoor yoga in the park and want these folks to continue and thrive, but I do have some suggestions for improving the class. First, the teacher should have a sign or some kind of marker to help people locate the class amid the hundreds of people milling around the meeting place. And the class should remain at the meeting place until 5 min before class, rather than walking off at 15 min before class to a remote part of Sheeps Meadow. I arrived 12 min prior to class and couldnt find anyone until class actually started and I saw a distant group in downward dog. During class, the teacher was hard to hear and seemed self-conscious about raising her voice over the sounds of the park. During transitions, it would be helpful if the teacher announced the names of the poses first, so experienced yogis can keep to a smooth flow, rather than going into detailed positioning for each limb for beginners and only later stating warrior 2.
