They were talking loudly the entire time, even after we asked them to stop. They kept getting closer, taking photos and then eventually sat down right in front of me and started eating snacks while talking. This was incredibly distracting.

It’s happened a couple of times that I grab a 15 and 20 pound weight, and only realize it in the middle of a workout because the room is so dark and the smaller weights are all over the place in that inconvenient space. Please consider re-arranging that space.

I especially appreciated how Lanoa kept encouraging us to check in with ourselves and get new weights if the ones we had were not serving us, and built in time to the class for this purpose. see all reviewsShe is the best instructor I've taken with at Kala. I have had yoga with a few others as well and they were wonderful! Allysa is like a calming drill sergeant. I believe it's because she is really present with her students and can sense when they need that extra, "you're stronger than you think" or "it's okay to choose lower weights if you need that right now". She remembers everyone's name. She notices the small things like if you are trying to knit your lower rib cage together while not even being cued. I mean teachers talk about this a lot in cues but do they really see when you are doing it on your own? It's subtle. I think her years as a professional dancer have helped shape the teacher she is now. The class she designed has an amazing playlist and the short circuits are perfectly tailored so you don't get burnt out by too long of reps in one area. This class is part of why I joined class pass and I hope it stays.
