About this studio

CrossFit NYC is one the ten oldest CrossFit affiliates in the world (2005). They were the first CrossFit affiliate in New York, and between their two locations, nearly ten thousand people have completed their Fundamentals program, which is designed to expose the newest members of their community to the foundational CrossFit movements in a small group setting. Their coaches provide detailed instruction, teaching new members to move safely with good form and progressively adding intensity to each workout in a manner similar to what members will experience in a larger class setting. Please note Fundamentals is a requirement for taking any other class at CrossFit NYC. They currently offer CrossFit Endurance classes on Wednesday and Sunday for those who have completed Fundamentals.

CrossFit NYC classes

How to prepare

They've got everything you need: fully-equipped showers, free towels, digital lockers (no padlock needed), a water fountain and vending machines for snacks/beverages. Simply plan to arrive in comfortable workout clothes & sneakers (or bring them with you), and they'll cover the rest. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first class. This will give you enough time get settled in and into class, which begins promptly at its start time.

How to get there

Their Flatiron Location is at 50 West 28th Street, 2nd Floor. They're between 6th Ave and Broadway (closer to 6th Ave) on the south side of the street. Look for a black and white CrossFit NYC awning, then come right up the steps. (There's a sign on their stairwell.)

Crossfit Fundamentals
Challenging class but easy to follow. Ixchel explained every workout well and pushed you to your best potential.
Crossfit Fundamentals
Not a real workout but just instructions. Apparently you need 8 of these classes to start taking real CrossFit classes
Crossfit Fundamentals
Great intro class
Crossfit Fundamentals
Great instructor. Great class. Not for beginners.
Crossfit Fundamentals
This class is fundamentals so you go through each exercise and explain form. We only did a workout in the last 10 minutes but it was at least informative on how to do the exercises.
Crossfit Fundamentals
Coach Ben was great
Crossfit Fundamentals
It was a nice workout but they didn’t really cover fundamentals or provide any explanation of what a normal class would be like.
Crossfit Fundamentals
Great workout! Loved how well everything was explained and the focus on getting the movements of each work out right.
Crossfit Fundamentals
First time taking a CrossFit class and Mark and Rob were awesome. We went over some of the basics and had plenty of practice. It was a great workout
Crossfit Fundamentals
I enjoyed the instructor and the lesson. The class was the perfect size for beginners. With only 6 people the instructor was able to spend individual time with each of us. Great intro to CrossFit highly recommend!
