Great class and I absolutely love NYP, the atmosphere is fantastic - but yesterday the music in the lobby was so loud that in the studio you were hearing both the lobby music AND the studio music and it was very chaotic, distracting and annoying...

Burns so good - there is absolutely nothing like the megaformer, regardless of how much HIIT, Bootcamp, running, lifting, TRX, etc that you do. With the lagree method, you’re moving slowly through each movement, constantly staying in the work, therefore working the main muscle groups as well as all of the smaller supportive ones + twitch fibers, resulting in an immediate increase in heart rate + sweat. You should be dripping during this class. And jay is hands down my top instructor here - he doesn’t let anyone slack off + creates non stop, super challenging profiles.

Really great class! Pilates is always a toss up for me bc I have a spinal fusion and I have some limitation in what I can do, but I was able to talk to the instructor before class and she was super helpful and helped make suggestions for modifications. Other instructors I've had in the past at other studios only focused on my limitations which really sucked, but Jenni was very accommodating and I got a great workout too! Highly recommend!

No one’s better than Jay. End of story. He gets you sweating within the first few minutes + keeps those slow twitch muscles burning throughout class. Quick transitions, minimal downtime, no BS. I know ppl complain about his attitude, but I honestly find his comments hilarious + pretty damn entertaining. Definitely Don’t take him if you’re a newbie or want easy. He ain’t it!

Xiomara is an awesome teacher!!! I had an injury and so did another student and she tailored things that gave us a great workout without further injury - ie - she gives great cues and really understands the body - most teachers ask about your injury (if at all) and then forget about it for the rest of class- phenomenal class.

West African Dance (live drumming - beginners encouraged)

One of the best classes I've ever taken! I was nervous going into it because I have very little dance experience, and zero in West African dancing, but it was very easy to follow along. We started with the basics then learned a whole dance piece by piece. Everyone was so welcoming and cheered each other on. And man, I am sore the day after.

    Reformer Level II

I really enjoyed Angeline's class. I took her open level class before and she was really tough so I was scared level 2 would be way too advanced for me. I'm comfortable enough with pilates but every instructor is different. She gave great modifications and I always learn new moves when I take her class. I also appreciated that she used props and not just the basic reformer exercises. I'll be back! I used to only go to Marina but now Angeline and Marina are my go to's.

    WundaBar Workout

Since I’ve started Pilates I noticed a lot of the places the workouts are too subtle to be any fun. Or they’re so intense that I can’t actually do the moves properly. This place is just right. A substantial amount of pain but also confidence that the moves/reps are achievable. Instructor was clear and concise. Machine was fun to use. Lots of variety of moves. My abs feel so sore and toned the day after. And the price point is so much better than the other intense places. In sum: the negative reviews on here are completely wrong. It’s super fun.

It's really rare I give such a great review for a class but Tara effing killed it. She was super energetic and knowledgeable. In a TRX class it's really easy to hurt yourself if you don't know proper form since 1 instructor to like 12-16 people is an impossible ratio but she did a great job overall. As a personal trainer, I felt super safe in her class!! Highly recommend. Esp since she was so nice!!!!!

Very nice venue. super clean and cute. everything seems new. There are no appropiate changing rooms, and no showers (lets agree that no one sweats a lot at a Pilates class though) Class was very pleasent and well taught. the fact that we were only 5 made it great. Community Class

Danbi was super welcoming as I came early and she showed me around. She talked to me about her journey and told me a few important things that would be happening before the class. Before the class started we went over a few key moves and things to know about the reformer. Class was DIFFICULT and I’ve done classes like Tone House and other intense HIIT classes. I loved challenging myself in a different way today and even though the music wasn’t my vibe the workout and Danbi definitely were. Even if you’re new to workout don’t feel bad about taking a pause when your muscle is about to cramp because it’s a community of people at different levels but I saw many people stopping at a point. I will hands down be back for another challenge!

    CHAISE Reinvention

Seiji is one of the OG chaise instructors, so definitely come prepared to work in his class! Not for beginners or those without coordination or any body awareness. He's nonstop with plenty of reps covered through the various sequences (plié squats, static lunges, cat curls, butt blaster, arms, front lunges, side leg, teaser, seated abs, flying series, pikes) with speedy transitions, zero downtime + extreme attention to proper form, all done to a fire playlist. While this studio leaves a bit to be desired (the towels feel like sandpaper, there’s only 1 toilet, there aren’t mirrors along the front studio walls, the smaller room doesn’t have a door), there’s truly nothing like a Chaise class, for it blends aspects of Pilates, aerobics, barre + strength utilizing overhead bungees. As an athlete, I love incorporating these types of classes into my training for an active muscle recovery from lifting/ HIIT/CrossFit. I just wish that Chaise didn’t charge so many credits: 6-8 seems fair

    Brooklyn Barre Method- Mixed Level

Great workout! This is not a P57 or Pure Barre style barre class - more like a power Pilates with cardio and some barre tossed in. Kristen was awesome.

    Habitat Beginners Class-Pilates Machine

The absolute nicest instructor. This was a great class for introduction to the cadillac and reformer machines (half of the class was on each). I had never used either before, and she teaches as though you dont know what youre doing which is perfect. My class was pretty full - 7 or 8 people - but apparently its often smaller so you get even more personalized attention. Highly recommend for first time on the Pilates machines or if youre still new to them (I could probably use another beginner class to feel truly comfortable).

    Pilates for Text Necks

Kim is the best pilates instructor in NYC. First half of class was spent on strengthening and relaxing the neck, and she somehow managed to work out my entire body during the rest! Woke up a day later feeling great and it really does help my neck pain!

I am not a yoga person but this was a phenomenal yoga class. Difficult and you definitely need to be familiar with basic flows and terms but not judgmental. I will be back. The studio is bare bones but clean and the mats are amazing.

Excellent teacher! So informative, helpful and welcoming. She makes sure you do everything properly to avoid injury, which I really appreciate. So few studios really give individual attention, but the small class sizes here make that possible. I will definitely be back and am considering private lessons.
