Pre/Postnatal Pilates with Props at Positively Pilates
About this class
Pilates is the one of the BEST things you can do to prepare your body for child birth and restore your body after birth. This class was designed to be safe and effective for every level of fitness and every stage of pregnancy and BEYOND. Mamas in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester as well as the early postartum recovery phase (6 weeks postpartum-3 months) are welcome to attend this class. In this class, we do lots of stretching to help with the aches and pains of pregnancy/motherhood. We focus on core strengthening to help prevent diastisis recti PREnatal and restore your core POSTnatal. We learn how to do Kegels properly. Best of all, we work and tone on all the peripheral parts of your body that aren't/weren't pregnant (legs, arms, & butt). We provide all the mats and props at no extra charge so all you need to bring is YOU! How to prepare
We provide all the mats and props at no extra cost so all you have to bring is YOU! Wear comfortable but stretchy clothing and try not to hide in big baggy T-shirts so we can correct your form. Socks are required for all classes. Grip socks are preferred. If you do not have socks we sell them at the studio.
How to get there
The Monroe Center is actually 2 buildings joined together but a glass hallway. There are multiple entrances. We are on the 5th floor (STUDIO 514C) on the RED BRICK side of the building closer 8th Street. The best entrance is actually on 8th St. between Monroe & Jackson. If you enter the other side of the building, no worries, you can walk across the glass hallway and we are the first studio on the right. *There is FREE parking beside the building (enter on 7th St. between Jackson & Monroe) and it is very close to the 9th Street Light Rail.
