We’ve always loved Lena Dunham’s body positive attitude and her support of all women’s shapes, sizes, ages, attitudes and lifestyles. We also love that Lena is becoming quite the fitness class addict, as she recently told David Letterman.
When she couldn’t make it up a flight of stairs without losing her breath, she decided to get into an active routine. Her inspiration? Her 65-year-old parents: “They’re both really exercise fiends. They look really hot, and I was just starting to feel like I was really dragging behind,” she said.
So far, Lena’s been really into acro yoga and Tracy Anderson-inspired workouts. In case Lena wants to give ClassPass a chance, we’ve mapped out her weekday routine for the next time she’s filming in Brooklyn:
Monday: Mix Tape Monday class at Y7 Studios
In this class, Lena can strike yoga poses while listening to a hip-hop inspired playlist. We bet she’ll be able to get into the flow at this edgy studio that keeps the lights low but the energy super high.
Tuesday: Mat Pilates class at East River Pilates Studio
Because Lena likes the core workouts and small – painful – movements of Tracy Anderson’s technique, we bet she’ll feel the burn at this mat class for all levels. Plus, since Lena is all about everyone coming as they are, she’ll like the judgement-free, welcoming environment.
Wednesday: HIIT Dat Ass class at HIIT BK
Can’t you see Lena Dunham’s character on GIRLS, Hannah, trying to talk Marnie into a ‘HIIT Dat Ass’ class? This class builds and strengthens your lower bod and core, along with a cardio warm-up.
Thursday: Take a break, Lena, and tackle one of these healthy, high-protein snacks!
Friday: Friday Night Live Flow class at Align Brooklyn
Before kicking off the weekend, Lena could stop by this vigorous Vinyasa Flow class with live music. She’ll work up a sweat, but also tighten her core and tone her arms.
