Dawn is a wonderful teacher! She makes it light and fun yet explains everything so clearly that you work your muscles and joints safely and correctly and can even add artistry at the basic level. She is friendly, beautiful, and gracious in her dancing and teaching. I loved her class and will come again!

    Full Body

My first time. Class wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be, mean the dance moves werent that hard to follow but the cardio wasnt as intense as I had hoped. For the full body class, the cardio portions were interspersed with strengthening segments on par with a barre class. Overall the class was actually really fun and I look forward to returning for a full dance cardio class. Celine was great. I do have to say I appreciate finally going to one of these classes and having an instructor of color and different body shape than waif-y and white (looking at you, pure barre).

I love Calebs class. Hes high energy and learns everyones name in class. Best sweaty workout. But, the facility needs to put this class in a bigger studio. Its gotten too popular lately and theres not enough space. Plus, poor Caleb had to teach today while the heating was running.

    Sports Barre

I took my 1st Sports Barre class with Jacey yesterday. I didn't really know what to expect but happy I went. It was a tough but fun workout. Today I feel soreness everywhere. It was a total body workout with mix of cardio, dance and strength training. Mats and resistance bands were used. Expect to do lunges, planks, push ups and more. Jacey was very energetic and in excellent shape. She also came around to do corrections. Too cool to work out with a former Rockette. Very friendly and encouraging. Great music, nice staff. Very nice, clean and modern studio They provide towels and lockers. Tiny parking lot so if unable to park there, go to municipal lot and they will reimburse you.

Stephanie is a gem! The class is the perfect balance of challenging choreography and fun. No one takes themselves too seriously at Joffrey, which I love. It may not be as advanced as other intermediate classes in the city, but I'm not trying to become a prima, so that's fine by me. The facilities could be better/cleaner but it doesn't sway me. Beginner Modern

Sean Scantlebury's class was fun and challenging. He got us dancing and sweating. He did a good job of breaking down his interesting choreography so that it was doable for beginners. I normally dislike floorwork, but he made it palatable and accessible, although some agility was required (inverted movement with partial handstand).

Love this class! Sarahs choreo is amazing (just check her Yt or insta) and she breaks it down so well. She is also very funny and entertaining, Id give her 10 stars if I could. The only downside is there are clearly a lot of regulars who all know each other / Sarah so the class is cliquey and not very friendly or welcoming to new people.

Surprisingly challenging, fast paced, good music and nice instructor. Only complaints were in the back row there wasn’t a ton of space so was concerned I was going to kick the instructor when she walked behind us. Very energetic and motivating instructor. Class is very intense but goes by super fast. First 25 min of class today was a combination of body weight exercises and boxing air punching variations. Nothing was done for more than 30 seconds, so you wont get bored and can be motivated to go full out for those 30 seconds. Second have of class was 8 circuit stations, each one minute long of shadow boxing, fire flips, box jumps, db renegade rows, trx rows/jump squats, Bose squats, med ball quick feet toe taps and weighted punches. Note to studio: get a big timer/clock for the room Note to class: please dont make this more of a boxing class, keep it a mix of a little boxing and HIIT

Jimmy is great! He breaks down each step clearly and teaches at a good pace. This is definitely a great class for beginners as I had very little experience in salsa. By the end of the class I was able to pickup the fundamental moves of the dance. The class was quite small with only 3 other students but I didn’t mind as it felt more personal. Wonderful class! There is focus on form and placement and Anna gives great individual corrections. While I would consider this a beginner class it’s not an intro or very basic class - knowledge of ballet terminology and some experience are helpful. Anna is very welcoming though and does seem to tailor the class for the level of students.
