Always in love with this space! Visiting in the morning especially, it’s beautiful and warming to feel and watch the light fill the room as the sun continues to rise. I always leave feeling loose, warm, invigorated, and calm. Thank you <333

I’ve never had anything less than a 5-star workout here - Taylor’s class was challenging and pushed me to my limits for sure. 🔥 However, the vibe was muuuuch different than any classes or events I’ve ever attended with the studio. I arrived a few minutes early and it was just Taylor and I in the studio for a bit. She did not look at, acknowledge, or speak to me the entire time which I found really odd? Even when walking by me. If it was my first time there I’d be so put off to the experience. I debated reviewing because I absolutely adore this studio and all their staff, but felt like they should know. Again - if I was a newbie I probably wouldn’t come back based on my experience with Taylor.

She is an encouraging, funny, down to earth, genuinely kind instructor. I can see how the students feel comfortable and in their zone with her guidance. She is engaging, motivating and overall a full on super star. Thank you for a great, positive start to my day! And she’s right, it’s really all about your attitude going into any workout - but great teachers like her make it so much better!!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Denna was great! Challenging and fun— I liked doing 15 counts as opposed to 20-30 counts. Was a little disappointed by a latecomer that came to class 10 min late and slowly moved directly in front of me so I had to move to a different spot in the room in order to still see my form in the mirror. Not Deanna’s fault, but perhaps the studio should designate space for late attendees so they don’t block other classmates.

    Dance Rx

I have to say that it is very rare to find Carly’s energy in a workout class. It is cheerful and positive. The dance room is heated like a dry sauna room (not as hot as a sauna room), so make sure you do not wear too much clothes! But trust me, you will fall in love with dancing in a heated room, it is hot for the moment, but it feels soooo good afterwards! I found my skin is getting so much better after the heated room workout and my body was soooo relaxed. For the class, it is mainly a cardio workout, it has the dancing element: music lights, but do not expect it will be fancy dance moves from the TikTok. To me, it is a good design since the goal is to workout and have fun without spending too much energy on figuring out the complicated movements.

Trauma Informed Yoga and Somatic Breathwork

Loved this class and the incorporated somatic healing element. Tiraya is the most warm and thoughtful instructor and she makes her class so accessible.

Art of Tabla - Immersive Hand and Finger Drumming Class

The Art of Tabla Experience was a great introduction to this quintessentially indian percussion instrument, and is great value for those interested in an offbeat musical experience in NYC. Siddhartha is a gifted artist, and I would highly recommend booking any class or experience at Surya Sound Temple!

    PILATES

Pri was awesome. Workout was on the lighter side but had room to make modifications depending on your skill level. I do wish Pri would have done the class in the middle rather than the ends of the room since it wasn’t always visible if one is in the back. Overall can’t go wrong with any of the instructors for mat Pilates.
