see all reviewsThis was my first time taking hiphop with MINT and it was fun and very beginner-friendly! The instructor Madeline was so energetic, welcoming, and encouraging. She kept the moves fairly simple so that everyone can do it, even those who don’t have much experience with dance. She incorporated some workout moves like squats, high knees, and jumping jacks into her dance moves so it was definitely a cardio workout. I would return.

see all reviewsFirst — Zweet is my favorite place within 100 miles of DC and that’s not an exaggeration. It is a local studio with exceptional quality and a community unlike any other studio I’ve ever visited. For cycling, strength & more I could not recommend a place higher. Second — I admit a bias as I’ve been a huge fan of Heather’s since taking a nutrition workshop @ Zweet and being very inspired by her story & approach to fitness. But she is a wonderful, wonderful cycle instructor. Exercise offers us equal parts joy, peace, and challenge and Heather acknowledges each of these in her practice: great energy, great choreography, a good progression of sprints/choreo/hills, etc. Definitely left this class sweaty, so I got what I paid for! Also, 2 things I personally love: she is great at telegraphing what’s to come (I really love this, because it allows me to budget my energy and commit to going 110% at parts because I know an end is near), and the music is amazing! I go to many fitness classes and for cycle I often seek out themed classes because playlist is that important. This class wasn’t themed but I lucked out with a high-energy, kind of Halloween-y playlist. Anyway — I’m a huge fan of Heather and a huge fan of Zweet. An all-timer class for me!

see all reviewsAdd-on type choreography but there was no pressure to perform or remember the steps without instructor demonstration, which I appreciated. Though the workout wasn’t the most challenging, it was a great time! Tonya’s enthusiasm was electric and made me want to dance my heart out just like she was!
