Absolutely loved it! I’ve never done a F45 program but I fell in love with the format. They demo everything before hand and while you’re doing the exercises there are screens in front of you with. A countdown and visual representation. There’s a clear finish line. The instructors were encouraging but not overly chatty during the sets, and they came around giving modifications/corrections/amplifications. Whether you are new to F45 or not you feel welcomed. I would 100% go back. Even considering a membership (which the plans seemed very reasonable!)

The instructor’s queues make sense without looking. I can really get into the practice just listening. This routine specifically was warrior series with lots of triangle poses, some chair, and balancing - a GREAR VARIETY! The pace is great, supportive and motivating: we have the option to challenge a bit deeper or stay and listen to our bodies needs which makes it great for all levels. Justine always asks if there’s anyone new to the class, to yoga wholly, or if there are any injuries to know about. “Wiggles wobbles welcome“ is so comforting. I can honestly say I sweat every time and I’ve improved and been consistent in my practice thanks to Flow at Impact with Justine.

    SIGNATURE CIRCUIT SESSION

SESSION is my all-time favorite workout on ClassPass. If you like structured strength circuits with small bursts of cardio, then this is the class for you. They start the class with a very intentional 3-minute dynamic workout designed to prep exactly the muscles you’ll use later in the workout, then pause briefly for a thorough explainer of every circuit. The strength exercises are strategically designed for anyone, beginner or bodybuilder, so you can add weight, incline further, or progressively overload. It’s such a friendly environment (dogs welcome at both locations!!) and the focus on weight lifting is chef’s kiss.

I really like the work out here but today there were 3 ppl in my group that are new to working out. I heard them taking about it. Anyway, there is not a lot of form correction . I was cringing throughout the entire class watching them lift weights, sandbags and using other equipment (TRX, rower) incorrectly. So easy for them to hurt themselves. Josh is an anatomy nerd in the best way possible. I am new to Astoria and run my own yoga collective. I teach yoga 7 days a week, as well as take classes at least 3 days a week to support my own personal practice. I can’t tell you the last time a yoga class kicked my ass (in the best way possible) & in a way that was guided to get my body into poses in a healthy, non straining way. I was able to surprise myself, break a sweat and have the most delicious shavasana I’ve had in a while. Good job! I will say this class would have been quite a doozy and potentially overwhelming for anyone who does not already have a very very strong personal practice, but I loved it.

Tough Love Tuesday (121 Ludlow L.E.S.)

Very intense workout but worth it!!!! If you are into HIIT - the very intense kind, this is the place to go. 1. The space is very clean and neat. It is minimalism in prison theme while you do feel the quality details the staff put in the area. From the cleaning product, dryer, toiletries, etc. It has everything you need in a cozy space. 2. The workout space is very well designed. It is cool and feels open but also like in a camp. The whole room makes you feel like you are training in a prison cell (a lovely version, of course). It helps to focus on the workout with the black wall and very upbeat music, The floor is all yoga mat material, so it is very soft. If you tend to sweat a lot, I suggest wearing good grip socks. I find it slippery sometimes when I go barefoot without knowing what to expect. 3. The instructor has very good energy. He will do the demo. He is strict and encouraging. So you have someone to push you but don’t worry if you can’t keep it up. Just go with your pace with quality workouts rather than quantity. After the workout, I am a total hot mess drowning in my sweat. I had a nice shower right after and felt like a refreshed soul.

Kojo is the best! Expect an intense and borderline soul sucking strength training class with plenty of timed lifting intervals used for a variety of lower and upper body moves such as racked squats, lunges, deadlifts, swings, sumos, gorilla rows, push presses, renegade rows, high pulls & plank work. He also tends to toss in a conditioning section with plyometric work, plus an AMRAP, then finishing with core. Please have both lifting and KB knowledge before coming because this is absolutely not a beginner class. HIIT Strength

Great Class! Rock is an amazing instructor and a great guy. It actually feels like a personal training session while being part of a group and it is a fantastic comprehensive workout. Highly recommend!!!

    Total Body Strength and Toning

This gym reminds me of F45 but is everything that’s great about F45. Timed interval sets but the instructor does the exercises with you instead of only demoing in the beginning, and everyone does the intervals together instead of in pairs and different exercises. i didn’t know what to expect before coming here but i loved it and i will be back!!

Great workout! Great pace, I felt like I worked hard, but had fun too. We did a bunch of different exercises, using different machines, weights, medicine balls, kettlebells. Thanks De’Angelo!

    The Squash Class - Beginner

Not intimidating at all, as a first timer! The coach/owner and staff were all so welcoming. Thank god I only learned later the instructor —Nichol himself, was ranked one of the top players in the world in his career — but you’d never know by how beginner-friendly he is in his teaching!
