see all reviewsI like the 38th street location wayy better than 54th st. The bathrooms, lockers and sauna are modern and super clean. I went at 11am on Thursday and it was empty. I used the studio on the 3rd floor to do my warm up + yoga. And then hit the machines for strength and cardio. Staff was very nice and helpful. This might just be my new go-to.

A great class to do if you and a friend/partner are at different fitness levels as it’s easy to adjust to your abilities. Will definitely be back…even though it’s a bit far from me, it’s worth the trek!

see all reviewsCoach Luis is great!! Welcoming, energetic and professional. His class was dynamic, the boxing & conditioning segments were challenging and totally do-able. We spent time on core & stability in-between the conditioning segments. The end of the class was spent one-on-one mitt work with Luis. When one person is working with Luis the rest of the class practiced the movements we learned in class on the heavy bag individually - this is pretty common in a boxing gym. Practicing the basics combos is invaluable, if you don’t execute the basics well you’re not going to level up so I thought this was great. Thank you!!!

see all reviewsI thought I was in shape until this class. I usually work out 3 days a week doing HIIT classes, but this one kicked by butt. Super fast paced class with no breaks.! Expect to do high reps counts of exercises like lunges, squats, deadlifts, rows, tricep extensions etc with weights in hand and cardio bursts of jumping jacks, high knees, burpees, skiers and squat jumps. FYI, no locks for lockers so you have to bring your own or find a place to stash it in the workout studio room. Class size tonight was around 25 people.

Class stared off with an intense 10 min of straight body weight cardio and shadow boxing (jump squats, burpees, lunges, jumping jacks, mountain climbers etc). Then class was split in half. Half doing standard circuits (dumbbell renegade rows, box jumps and tricep dips, treadmill, rope pulls, med ball slams) whole the other half of class did different bag work combination stations- one station being with the instructor. Class ended with sit ups and dumbbell shadow boxing/lifts/curls.

see all reviewsMr. Bernard is a great teacher, his lessons are creative and he knows how to tailor and structure classes to different levels of experience within the group. One thing I miss at Valor in general is the intensity of other kickboxing classes. I'd welcome a quick burst/set of burpees, crunches, pushups between exercices to keep the energy level high and the workout more rewarding. Sometimes the classes feel more like a PE class than a kickboxing level workout. You guys are great and hope to train with you for some time to come, but would definitely welcome some overall intensity.
