How it works

About this class

This class combines ballet principles with strength-training exercises, cardio and stretching. This hour-long workout will consist of a cardiovascular warm up in the center of the room, followed by lower body sculpting exercises at the barre, upper body exercises with props and Pilates-based exercises to strengthen the core. Yoga postures and ballet stretches are integrated into the cool down to improve flexibility and posture. All exercises are low impact. Comfortable exercise apparel is recommended. Students may participate barefoot, in sticky socks or ballet slippers.

How to prepare

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your first class. Comfortable dance or active wear should be worn. Footwear may consist of Ballet or Jazz shoes, socks or barefoot. Sticky socks are recommended for Barre Fitness and Pilates classes. Mats are available to borrow but it is recommended to bring your own for Pilates, Barre Fitness, TRX, and Conditioning for Dancers.

How to get there

They are located at 2900 Liberty Avenue. Free parking is available onsite.

I am sure that you were not, I promise! Many of our regular participants either grew up dancing and take our Ballet technique classes, so that may be why other seemed to be more "ballerina-like!" Keep coming to class and we can get you feeling like a ballerina yourself :)
