    RIDE: ESSENTIALS 50

Jasper’s playlist and vibes are the best as always!! However the studio really needs to do some maintenance. So many of the lockers are spoilt now and with the high traffic now with the pilates class, it’s extremely difficult to even find a working locker. Definitely not going to leave my belongings unlocked especially when there has been a theft case in the recent past.

First class with Megan, and I would say she's one of the better teachers at YM. Class was well planned with a good mix of postures and a lot of options to adjust them to your personal practice level. Lots of opportunities to practice more advanced skills. I don't think I have been to a class with as many arm balance and inversion poses as this one - crow, EPK, dragonfly, side crow, pincha, headstand, tripod and even a chance to have a go at handstands! Obviously, it is quite an intense class, but perfect for more advanced yogis who are looking for a challenge.

As an instructor myself, this is one of the more unique classes I’ve been to. The sequence was extremely well thought out with each pose intentionally set, all nicely leading up to the peak poses. However, I would not recommend this class to anyone who is not familiar with vinyasa at all because v few cues were given. There were also no modifications/options given for injuries and one of the students had to watch the rest for a major part of the class. Would’ve also appreciated a longer warmup and cool-down but nevertheless I would book back in! :)

Clarence was very clear with cues. At the beginning of the class, he was clapping to signal the next pose, which I found disorienting at first. But got used to it. He stopped clapping after a while. I would say the class is beginner friendly because you just have to do what you can. I felt that was no judgment from him, which I appreciated. Generally speaking enjoyed the class - nice sound healing with calming wave sounds in the first part of the session 🌊. Sadly I was -again- next to people snoring, not just this time but also last time. Instructor says that those people apparently really need a deep sleep and doesn’t wake them up.. I wish this was different as it can be disturbing for other participants and I know other places do wake up participants. Since all senses are closed off, except for sound, so it’s very hard to focus on the sound healing. I might bring earplugs if I come next time, and if someone on one side is snoring, I can put 1 earplug in.. 😅

    Intro Class (required)

There is literally no need to bring anything but yourself to the gym, even shoes as the workouts are done barefooted. Shower facilities, shirt, pants, lockers are all provided. equipments are laid out for 1 person per pod such that there is no worry of not having what you need for the exercise. Reception was informative & clear. Registration was quick and effortless! Instructor was specific in giving instructions on form correction. Ritual gym definitely stands out!

    BODYPUMP (MS)

As always Albert is very precise in his instructions and always preview before he starts the next track. i like that there's a side mirror to check my form however the aircon is not strong enough or there's too many spotlights. Would be good to sanitize the equipments after use.

Great instructor and clear instructions. Great for beginners. Glad to see many other ladies too. Instructor was easy on me as I have spine and knee problems. Still worked up a massive sweat, so am very happy with it! Great to be punching again

    Stronger

Great. Instructor was clear with instructions and program and was encouraging but not pushy. Some trainers keep pushing you to go heavier or harder but I want to focus on the right activation, not compensate with other muscles~ Thanks!

    STRONG Loaded (Upper + Abs)

Claudia’s friendly and occasionally fixes forms! This is my second class with her and I really enjoy it. Also, I’m liking this studio (STRONG + Yoga Movement) more than the Tanjong Pagar one; the STRONG section is way more intimate & cozy with a smaller class size. Will be back for this studio.
