    Boxing

The class kicked off with a 30-minute warm-up followed by an hour of paired punches, and the vibe was pretty unique compared to other Classpass classes I’ve tried. No signing in or waivers—just walk in and get started, seems like most people are their regular students and they are young, kind of feeling like I'm in a summer camp for boxing. As the only newbie, I struggled to understand what'scoming next during the warm-up. I had to ask the coach for guidance, and he simply told me to grab a rope. Most of the time, I found myself glancing at others to figure out what to do next. During the paired punches, it felt a bit awkward since I was the only woman in the class, so I ended up paired with a guy. Getting punched in the chest was unavoidable—not a huge deal but definitely a bit strange at first. I noticed they offer women-only sessions, but those aren't available on Classpass. That said, it was a solid workout: 90 minutes and I burned over 800 calories! I won't recommend to anyone new to boxing, but if you want to challenge yourself, may be good to try.

I loved the open, free flowing style. As a beginner, there was a new challenge at every corner, and that helped with being in the moment. My instructor and classmates were welcoming and helpful. It was an amazing experience; a great way to break out of a shell
