see all reviewsTobi was amazing! So great at guiding everyone through class whether you were on the bag or on the weights. His prelass newbie crashcourse was super helpful and set me up really well for class - it's just a couple minutes but made all the difference. I really appreciated his tips for left handed people too cause they helped me keep up even though I needed to invert everything.

see all reviewsI don’t think there’s a way for class passers to enter this gym in the morning since the front desk isn’t staffed before 9a, but I just waited outside in the cold until a nice member let me in. Then, I had no clue where to go. But I saw the instructor walk in (I saw his picture with name on the wall so knew it was him) and followed. The room for rise and grind is to the left. The gym is basic. The actual class was good. We did 4 x 10 of shoulder press & lateral raise, then 4x10 of RDL & rows, then squats & overhead triceps and core. I could have done a similar workout as open gym but really did appreciate the instructor’s personal attention and feedback. He called the group out a bit on the core section and made us repeat some reps - I love that kind of accountability and thought it pushed me harder, but I’ve read enough ClassPass reviews to know some people get really sensitive with that.

see all reviewsThe class kicked off with a 30-minute warm-up followed by an hour of paired punches, and the vibe was pretty unique compared to other Classpass classes I’ve tried. No signing in or waivers—just walk in and get started, seems like most people are their regular students and they are young, kind of feeling like I'm in a summer camp for boxing. As the only newbie, I struggled to understand what'scoming next during the warm-up. I had to ask the coach for guidance, and he simply told me to grab a rope. Most of the time, I found myself glancing at others to figure out what to do next. During the paired punches, it felt a bit awkward since I was the only woman in the class, so I ended up paired with a guy. Getting punched in the chest was unavoidable—not a huge deal but definitely a bit strange at first. I noticed they offer women-only sessions, but those aren't available on Classpass. That said, it was a solid workout: 90 minutes and I burned over 800 calories! I won't recommend to anyone new to boxing, but if you want to challenge yourself, may be good to try.

see all reviewsI really enjoyed 9 Rounds. The Pos: 1) the staff was great. The trainer on site helped me as needed with form and had me hit his gloves and bags which is harder (but more fun) than solo. 2) the 9 rounds are only 3 min so your workout is mixed up. Cons: you have to buy the gloves and wraps after the first class. I have gloves and wraps but you have to have their branded ones. If you’re a member or going to go enough, it might be worth but not sure if you utilize class pass.
