First time with ariana. She has a very kind sweet quiet demeanor. Challenging class with modifications for more advanced and beginners. She did a lot of individual adjustments. Suggestion to owner please open a studio in BK! Clinton hill / fort greene has a huge lack in classical pilates!

    .Nofar Method Flatiron Pilates Class

Kennyth was a challenging but motivating instructor. I love trying different teachers at Nofar because they each bring something new. This one was a little bit more dance/barre-inspired than previous classes I took but a great way to mix it up.

What is there not to love about a spin class with Jenna Arndt? It’s like showing up to a warehouse party and then realizing you got con’ed into a going to a workout. Good energy, good vibes, good music, and great sweat. Just don’t expect to leave looking cute, which is also true leaving a warehouse party I suppose

I think that it would be good if they switched up the moves a bit more - esp for ‘six packs and backs’ and did more creative combination Pilates type moves… lunges are fine but sometimes classes really tend to overwork the legs. I live in a 6 story walk up. I get enough legs!

    Full Body

First time experiencing this core workout. Pace was slow and methodical but transitions are fast. Machines were easy to use and activated key muscles. The instructor made sure to guide the form as necessary. For a beginner like me, it was tough but a good burn. Will probably return another time!

    Pilates Reformer Class

Jules is very knowledgable and explains what our form should look like, why it should like that, and what muscles we’re trying to target. Also, don’t underestimate the exercises! Some of them look easy but I definitely got a good workout!

    Pilates Machines Class

Great classical class with lots of stretching. Real ones who understand classical pilates - small, slow movements while utilizing core and stabilizing pelvis - will enjoy this class. If you want someone to yell at you while burning out your glutes (and probably using the wrong muscles), I’d try somewhere like solidcore or BodyRok.

Jill is the BEST!!! Her class is always so challenging (but don’t worry if you are new) because the way she guides through the moves is very clear and she focus on your posture and which muscles should be turn on she talks through it clearly so you won’t get confused. Always sore the next day. Love her!

Amazing class - Helen managed to cram everything into 45 mins, but why the short classes? I think of Gramercy Pilates as a place that respects classical tradition — 45 minutes isn’t enough to work, stretch, and release. Please bring back hour long class!

    Reformer + Tower

Haven’t been to core in many years. moved recently and saw them back on classpass live. I think they reduced the studio space by half. Still very well stocked classical pilates studio. Anna was subbing class. She is a great classical instructor. Very articulate. 30/30 reformer / tower. nice paced. i don’t love the leather/ wood handle reformers as they hurt a bit. i love that they don’t force you to wear socks which is how pilates should be done!

Sweetest pilates instructor! Was a tough at home pilates workout, great ab workout. Needed a towel and 2 small pound weights or similar. Some moves were new and creative, and reminded me of reformer pilates which is great because I haven’t been able to use a reformer in so long!

    Yang Yin Yoga

I loved the half hour of flow followed by a half hour of yin poses. Luna makes this an experience for all of the senses: burning sage during pranayama, beautiful music, sharing her knowledge of yoga philosophy during the yin phase, essential oils during shvasana. It’s wonderfully restorative.
