    HIGH 45

I've been to the studio many times but this was my first with Scott. He was clear with instructions. One thing I really liked is that he did not talk too much while we where running. He did it so we could stayed focused on our form and pace without distractions. I will definitely go back to his class.

    DIRTY 30

I thought a 30 min class would be easy since I found the Dash 28 a breeze, but I was so wrong. This was intense and I felt like I was going to throw up at times. Come to this on an empty stomach! Corinne always has the hardest workouts.

    Switch Playground Class

It was my first class with Ethan and he has really great energy, and speaks with purpose. When he gave instruction and motivation, it didn’t feel excessive or corny like with other male instructors at the playground - it felt genuine like he really wanted us to succeed. There were some new assistant trainers that were really great and motivating also. I’d definitely go back to a class with Ethan hoping it was also the same combo of assistant trainers.

    Switch Playground Class

This class was so fun! Great environment, Large room, cool lights, and fun music. There are 20 stations that you spend 2 minutes at each, alternating moves throughout-so you never get bored of the moves! There is a ski machine, erg, treadmill, bar bells, stair master, etc. You do have to go through stations with a partner though, so keep that in mind if you dont like that kinda thing.

This is the best class there. The other classes feel like to are just paying for a treadmill. This is mostly running but then a good about the if kettlebell however I do wish there was a bit more encouragement and push in class but that’s just the inner me wanting a boot camp type class .

    BFX Burn

Nice large clean studio. Now called NYSC with BFX and Cyc within it. 2nd desk for BFX check-in. There is also a gym downstairs with minimal equipment. There are nice locker room amenities with showers dryers towels water fountain. The burn class is set up like HIIT/Tabata. Not too much advice on weight selection other than a heavy and medium kettle bell and dumbbell (nice ones covered with rubber). Room is set up with a small mat and gliders for each person. There are several sets of timed jumping jacks/ mountain climbers / burpees/ etc with weight lifting mixed in. Good workout. Not the hardest if you are familiar with this type of work out. Probably hard but doable for a beginner. Lots of modifications offered for less athletic people / as you get tired.

Comparable to a fhitting room or krank class but less pricey! Mike Really takes the time to break down all of the moves for everybody even if nobody raises their hand that there a beginner. He does alterations to those who are more advanced and modifications to those who cant quite keep up. Wonderful encouraging coach and I love going here.

    BURNOUT (endurance)

I really love this nyp studio. It’s so gorg. I only take their burnout classes bc I don’t find them too challenging so I worry the aaa classes will be too easy for me. This class was really good just a little too short for me. We ended after like 47 minutes and I wish we could’ve done more leg movements like lunges. But this class has a great ab and plank focus which I love and is why I keep coming back. Just for this price I want a class that’s longer.

Halston leads incredibly strong, challenging + sweat inducing workouts with nominal time wasted. Today included a strength section, circuit, ab section, then an AMRAP partner finisher. Only issue was that there were a lot of tricep movements that should've been focused on another muscle group to add more diversity to the movements.

Hot damn, class was brutal tonight! 8 mins at each station with the same buy in + cash out move sandwiching a 6 min EMOM of another move: Run .2, 20 KB Swings / Row 12-18 cals, 10 erg knee tucks with 5 air squats / 20 wall balls, 4 man makers into clean, squat + press / 15 bike cals, 8-10 burpees. I generally don’t enjoy EMOMs Bc the goal count always seems to be too low + so I feel like I’m standing around doing nothing during class, but the given goals were on point. Love taking class here bc you never know what you’re walking into with the ever changing movements + profile breakdowns, but I always feel gassed when leaving.

Justin was awesome and really welcoming as it was my first class there! This class is TOUGH-you will be so tired by the last round of treadmill and floor weight work. This class is not for the faint of heart. You do about 8 mins on the treadmill, then 8 mins on the floor, alternating for 4 rounds-and each round is different. The classpass description says it's a 50 minute class, but it's actually 1 FULL hour long. They do not stop a minute early-so be prepared for that. I would go back again for sure! I also like that the instructor doesn't push you to make your running speed higher. They give you a range, and don't bother you, but encourage you to listen to whatever your body is feeling-and go with that. It's a great, intense workout!

Everything other reviewers say it is. If you do high intensity cardio 2-3 times a week, though, you will definitely get through that warm-up. Only downside is there isn't enough emphasis on form for a "beginners" class (but we all know it's not really that, don't we). Pilates is a lot harder than it looks. Especially if you are very thoughtful about it and do it properly. this worked muscles other workouts neglect, sych as hamstrings, and smaller more subtle muscles in the core. It is a very core intensive workout. I have done to beginner classes one with Katherine and one with Sean. Sean's was a little bit harder, but they were both very good introductory classes. If you have never done Pilates, or haven't done it in a long time, you should definitely take this beginner class. the SOHO Studio is beautiful, but I found the Greenwich Village Studio a little more welcoming

Michael ran the Barry’s class I’ve been to yet—inspiring vibe, challenging yet accessible sets, and great music which helped lighten the atmosphere as he occasionally sang along for a few bars. Most of all, the class felt good-hearted and kind in a way that I haven’t experienced at Barry’s, where instructors often put a on a hard edge and the whole format and operation can feel like a very commercial, impersonal injury factory. If you’re on the fence about Barry’s, I highly recommend going to Michael’s class.

Class was good, instructor was great—paid REALLY good attention to form, even in a full class. As a regular Tuesday night class goer, I have to say that this may have been the toughest class Ken has ever given us. Basic but hard as all hell. After the typical warmup in the studio then a farmers carry to Madison Ave plus a non stop 6 min ab series, the workout was 7 rounds of the following : 20 American KB swings, 15 air squats & 5 burpees before a sprint to Madison & back to be done as fast as possible. Most clocked in at ~2 mins so there was a minute rest before the next round. First time I've seen ppl splayed out all over the fitness floor once we finished.

    Body Camp: SWEAT

The format was surprisingly similar to the Fhitting room except theres more rest time. I think Fhittjng room is like 1 min of exercise with 10 seconds of rest whereas here is like 40 seconds of exercise with 20 seconds of rest, which is the optimal HIIT ratio. Despite the longer rest, I still got a challenging workout. I like how you alternate between cardio and strength stations: the strength becomes harder when youre out of breath from the cardio, but you do have time to catch your breath before moving onto the next station. We ended with a cardio finisher and stretch. I like the space better than the Fhitting room because its a lot bigger and thus theres more stations and also some of the exercises here cannot be found at Fhitting room (e.g. agility ladders). You go at your own pace but Bethany is very encouraging. Im coming back to try more classes. I wish there werent as many people today, maybe we couldve utilized the space more and done some sled pulls or something.

    FlyBarre 60

Tony is one of my favorite instructors at fly barre. i like the assigned mats, banana/Apple, and water at the studio. it's not high impact or much cardio, mostly toning but if you know that's what you're going for then it's what you get and he's really energetic and cheers everyone on!

    TROOPER MET CON CAMP

Nick is the best instructor and I left this class completely worked. Minimal time for breaks so your heart rate is really up there for the hour. Tonight was maybe one too many people so a bit cramped but usually there is enough space.

    Full Body

My first time. Class wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be, mean the dance moves werent that hard to follow but the cardio wasnt as intense as I had hoped. For the full body class, the cardio portions were interspersed with strengthening segments on par with a barre class. Overall the class was actually really fun and I look forward to returning for a full dance cardio class. Celine was great. I do have to say I appreciate finally going to one of these classes and having an instructor of color and different body shape than waif-y and white (looking at you, pure barre).

Sad to hear that Moe is leaving! He’s super tough, but if you put your mind to it, you can get through it. Seriously. This class is such a good test mentally and physically and the studio is no frills, which reminds you that you don’t need a fancy boutique studio to work hard and change your body.

Colter didnt lead todays workout it was another guy named Bryan I think. Colter was there (it seemed as though he was training him). Bryan was great. The workout was super intense. He has some room for growth but it was an awesome experience!

Simply Move It - Dance Cardio

AMAZING class. it really kicked my ass, and per my fitbit, I burned more calories than in a 45 minute treadmill class. that said, I am a fitness instructor, and was able to catch onto most of the moves. I think it would be difficult for someone who doesn't understand 32 count combos to catch on, but be open-minded, keep moving, and have a good laugh at yourself if you get lost. it was well done, and I'd come back!

Fun playlist. The bike is more like a soul cycle bike- no monitor with your resistance and stats. Small room and bikes are close to one another but good energy and teacher moves around the room motivating people.

Surya Hot Flow - Level 1

Our instructor Megan was great, she took the time to correct my stance several times. Was concise and easy to follow. She also topped off the class with an adjustment and aromatherapy with tea tree oil. Playlist was a fun mix which helped to keep me engaged. The facilities need work, a lot of keys are missing on the lockers and the heat was disappointing. Temperature was turned on at 100 but it felt like 80 tops. I felt a strong draft from the window throughout the class.

    Manic Monday

Tonights class was ConBody at its best: simple, effective movements taught without pretension by an instructor who sets a high expectation for the class but doesnt make you feel ashamed if you arent doing as many reps as your neighbor. Class was challenging with plenty of variety yet still felt attainable for all levels.
