It was very challenging and some of the choreography was really advanced especially since I haven’t been to spin in a while, but I know it just takes practice. see all reviewsGood workout. Some advice to newbies: treat the warm up like a warm up. Don’t worry about setting a pace or keeping up. A warm up doesn’t mean going 100% from the start. Need to build up to it. Another huge tip for beginners: in the warm up stay in the middle. Do NOT be in the back or the line or front (try to avoid being the first or last 2-3 people). If you’re in the middle it tends to be a little slower or a pace and you’re not pushing to keep up as much. Same for the speed work or group exercises after the warm up: try to be the 2nd or 3rd group for anything. Gives you more of a chance to recover.

Would’ve liked to see less squats (we did 4 rounds of them) with some sort of lunges opted in instead, plus more tricep work added in, but with these shortened classes, we definitely lose the ability to do it all in only 50mins, which is unfortunate.

One comment - not a review or a reflection of the studio - someone came in wearing crazy perfume or fragrance. Coupled with the heat of the room, it gave me a headache and was also incredibly distracting. So I guess the point of this is - if you’re new to hot yoga, don’t wear crazy perfume to class. Although this goes for ANY workout class.
