This class had us pressing, dancing, sprinting, sweating the whole way through - heck at one point I was crying (happy) tears - but somehow I could have done 45 minutes more (maybe!). This instructor is the best I’ve ever seen in any SoulCycle I have been to!

As much as I wanted to keep up and follow along, my body could not since it was my first time cycling! And that was ok. I took breaks and rode in the saddle here and there which helped. That inconsistency made me hesitant to try it for a while.That said, I’m glad I finally did. The class was excellent. The structure and setup were well thought out, the lighting was great, and the instructor was absolutely amazing engaging, knowledgeable, and beautiful inside and out. Sessions is one of the few studios that really prioritizes form, which stood out to me immediately. If I had to give one critique, it would be the length of the explanation at the beginning. It took a while to go through all nine exercises, and I noticed a few people yawning or zoning out. To be fair, that kind of detailed instruction is necessary, especially when you’re emphasizing proper form. So it’s really one of those “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situations. I don’t put that on the instructo. Once the class actually started, it was an amazing workout. The music and playlist were on point, the energy was high, and the instructor was very present and attentive. She corrected my form a couple of times and did the same for others As someone in the fitness industry who also teaches classes, I’d absolutely recommend this class. five stars for the instructor and the workout itself. .

However, I found the space to be very small. As a bigger guy, I didn’t have much elbow room. I think the size works better for an average-sized person, but for me, it felt a bit cramped. Overall, I’d rate my experience a 6 out of 10, but that has nothing to do with the instructor she was excellent. My rating is more about the structure of the class, which follows Barry’s model. I’m not surprised by my experience because I’ve heard both great and not-so-great things about Barry’s. It seems like one of those workouts that you either love or don’t. I attended the class because I’m interested in opening my own fitness establishment and wanted to see what people were talking about.
