    Kimberley is an excellent instructor! Her class is fun and challenging and I like how she builds a community with the same students coming back each week! It looks like the Thursday 7:15am class will no longer be offered through ClassPass which is a bummer! Since a lot of us in the class have injuries, Pilates is the only class we can do at the studio. The studio as a whole really beautiful and well-managed, and when I didn’t have injuries I used to do the unlimited membership there which was fun b/c they had perks like the fitness challenges! One note: there was a student coughing the entire class! It was really distracting and anxiety-provoking. I wish ClassPass and the studio would send an updated Covid policy to students saying if you are sick or coughing please stay home out of a courtesy for the others in the class. Kimberley handled it well by keeping a door open, which alleviated some worry! But like I said would be great if ClassPass and the studio could reiterate to students to stay home if they are not feeling well out of a courtesy to the others in the class.

    Try it!!!! Great facilities (with complementary towels/showers/etc) and Amber was a great coach. The workout itself was hard as expected but very scalable. I would say it’s best to have a bit of experience with strength training as they don’t really go into detail on all the form cues, but overall I really enjoyed the class. I also lost something in the studio, but the front desk was super proactive and contacted me when they found it. Highly recommend!

    SESSION is my all-time favorite workout on ClassPass. If you like structured strength circuits with small bursts of cardio, then this is the class for you. They start the class with a very intentional 3-minute dynamic workout designed to prep exactly the muscles you’ll use later in the workout, then pause briefly for a thorough explainer of every circuit. The strength exercises are strategically designed for anyone, beginner or bodybuilder, so you can add weight, incline further, or progressively overload. It’s such a friendly environment (dogs welcome at both locations!!) and the focus on weight lifting is chef’s kiss.

    Honestly this is my favorite class at Bodyrok! It’s the only megaformer class I can find in NYC to incorporate the jump board, which I really takes the workout up a notch. My only gripe with BodyRok in general is that there aren’t as many instructions on form, but Kristen was an exception. Having had rotator cuff surgery and tears in both shoulders, I really appreciated the options offered to modify each position to what works best for my body. Great class!

    The thing I love about sweat 440 is that you can do your own thing and there isn’t an instructor yelling at you. The past two times I’ve been there is a new woman there who just walks around the studio yelling over and over, “You’ve got this !” and it’s very impersonal and robotic. It’s annoying me to the point that I’m getting turned off by the gym. I liked my first few experiences there where the instructors walked around to make sure you were ok & corrected if needed, didn’t just walk around yelling the same thing over and over without even really paying attention to what’s going on. I don’t think anybody really appreciates it.
