see all reviewsThis was my first time at Pure Barre: The Pros: Madee was great - funny, encouraging and kept the energy up. She integrated modifications and breaks well. The studio is nice, plenty of space for everyone to see themselves in a mirror, music was well-chosen to keep the tempo with auditory signals when you were changing pace or sections. The Cons: not the most welcoming to newbies; if I hadn’t had at least a barre class under my belt, I would have been even more lost. It really tosses you right into the deep end with the expectation you’ll know what to do and how class will proceed. I prefer more cool down at the end of a class, but since classes are so tightly scheduled, you feel a rush to clear the room right at the end of class. And a personal thing - they have standard water fountains with no bottle filler available. Not even an attachment in one of the restrooms. Seems odd in this day and age in a fitness space.
