Emily is a fantastic instructor.
Pekiti Tirsia Kali
This was so much fun! David was a great instructor and put me right at ease as an absolute beginner. Now I'm sword shopping online.
MuayThai Bag Drills with Bruce
A great workout! Bruce was friendly, professional and encouraging. The class is small, so there is enough room to do the strikes and kicks w/o knocking into each other. Bruce had us moving for the full 60 minutes. I love that there is no AC... This has built up my endurance/tolerance for warmth/heat/humidity. I also appreciate working out the old-fashion way. I used to Crossfit and my 1st box in NYC did not have AC. Those were some memorable workouts. My favorite part was when Bruce had us dedicate a round towards practicing front kicks only. I find that these type of repetitive drills help me build a better form and technique. It was awesome!

Muay Thai Bag Drills with Emily
Emily was out of office, so Steve substituted. He taught a solid class. Class begins with a dynamic warm up ie: jumping jacks, push ups, etc. We continued the warm up with shadowboxing. Once the warm up was completed, we proceeded into the drills. We alternated between heavy bag drills and calisthenics/body weight exercises, such as sit ups, planks, lunges, squats, etc. It was a solid workout. It was 80 degrees in NYC today, so the facility was on the warm side. I’m not sure if the facility has AC or not. I’m not a fan of humidity/heat. However, I’ve been challenging my tolerance for hot temperatures by going to hot yoga, etc, so today’s workout in the warm conditions was great for me! I loved every minute. Also, the facility is immaculate.
Muay Thai Bag Drills with Emily
Excellent class. Emily was out of office, so Steve was the substitute teacher. He was great. I was anxious, nervous, intimidated and scared because I’ve never been to a martial arts academy. I’m very interested in learning muay thai but was scared of taking class at this place. I thought this type of academy would be a very masculine culture but I was wrong. It was pretty down to earth. The staff and the students were friendly and welcoming. I’m so glad that I checked this place out. I will definitely be back. By the way, this place is SUPER clean! The staff that cleans does a phenomenal job keeping the place immaculate, it feels like home.
