About this studio

District Climb is a 30-minute calorie torching indoor climbing class which takes place on a VersaClimber. They climb together in-studio to the rhythm of one-of-a-kind playlists and a state-of-art lighting system to inspire you to push past your limits and reach your personal goals. They’re coached by magnetic instructors, who support them, guide them, and push them to reach their personal bests. District Climb is for everybody and every body. Get Ready to Climb.

How to prepare

Keep Hydrated: They work up some serious heat during their climb, so it’s important to hydrate for class. What to Wear: They suggest wearing something comfortable that you can sweat in with closed-toe athletic shoes. Arrival: They suggest arriving 10–15 minutes before your class if it is your first time and 5 minutes if you have taken a class before. Set-Up: The VersaClimber is custom designed to fit everybody and every body. Before each class their instructors will show you the proper way to climb on your machine.

How to get there

They are located in the West Village. Their studio is next to Floyds Barbershop and Sushi Zushi.

Pros: My glutes/hamstrings were sore for 4 days afterwards. Cons: The studio felt slightly grimy everywhere. I’m pretty sure the same song was played on repeat for 35 minutes. There are very few ways to vary what you’re doing on the climber, so the whole workout isn’t very interesting. Jaime was friendly and upbeat; however, his instruction was pretty minimal.

It was my first time going and I had absolutely no idea what to expect. When I walked in, Tamra was so sweet and helpful and Jen’s class kicked my butt. It was intense, but I was never uncomfortably pushed beyond my limits. Great workout! Now I just want to get better!

What is ClassPass?
