About this studio

The Cypress Fitness "Total Cypress Workout" class is a balanced, total-body class designed to improve overall strength, endurance, and body composition. Equipment used includes TRX suspension trainers, kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, battle ropes, sandbags, rowing machines, ski ergs, fan bikes, and more! The Saturday "Trainer's Choice" class is a themed class that varies each week and focuses on a specific fitness attribute or modality.

How to prepare

ClassPass users will need a door code to enter the building. If Cypress Fitness has not emailed you with a door code at least 30 minutes prior to your class start time, please text them at 504-484-9422 with your name and class time. Save your code! After your first visit you will only be sent a new code when the codes are changed.

How to get there

Cypress Fitness is located inside the Landing Zone building at 625 Celeste St. Once inside, follow the hallway to the right all the way down and you’ll reach the gym. A trainer will greet you once inside and have you complete the waiver as well as a brief health questionnaire. There is street parking on Celeste St. as well as on the grass triangle in front of the building. There is also a lot for the building on the corner of Felicity & St. Thomas. Do NOT park behind the building on the corner of Religious & Celeste.

I've been to other classes here that I liked a lot but this one today was a little low intensity which wasn't what I was hoping for. I'd love if some more high intensity moves like burpees or sprints could be incorporated! Also if the workout is going to be in pairs it would be great if we didn't have to stay with the same partner the whole time. I went to the class with two friends so one of us was left out the whole time where if we'd had a chance to switch things up that would be great cuz I think the nature of class pass is that a lot of people go in groups like this

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Our classes are all a mixture of strength and cardio. It will depend on the instructor, the class plan for the day, and the overall gym focus of the month as to how much of one element you'll get versus the other, as well as which specific exercises will be included. Intensity can always be adjusted by the member within the workout structure by increasing the weight used for strength exercises or the output for cardio movements. We often pair/group people during classes to optimize equipment use or aid in the flow of the class. Typically it is left up to the attendee to choose his or her partner or group.

Instructor was able to modify intensity of workout for any skill level (make harder or easier). Total body workout!

Tough, but great strength and weight/body weight class. Keith was very helpful and frequently checked in with everyone individually to check correct form, make sure we were using effective weight amounts, and make any modifications, if needed.

Keith was great about getting newcomers started and then not intervening in the workout unless you asked for assistance or needed a little encouragement.

I was a little intimidated when I entered the gym because it seems more like what I would imagine a cross fit gym looks like. However, Keith was patient and made sure I knew how to do all the moves. I got a good strength workout and had fun too! I would definitely go back!

This was like high school / middle school gym class. Good for strength training but not much cardio.
