bloc is a community-focused retreat from the everyday hustle, with high energy group fitness classes at their core. Whether you're looking for a mix of strength and plyometrics, hoping to burn those weekend calories with a high-intensity cardio workout, or just looking for a release with a refreshing dance sesh with friends - they have you covered. Post-sweat you can enjoy any of the amenities from their partners including: complimentary Summit coffee, Updog Kombucha on tap, Green Brothers Juice smoothies for sale and recovery appointment offerings to take a load off and reset in compression-based AirRelax boots in the back lounge area. They also have a community table and hangout area with free WiFi to knock some things off your to-do's. Come for the sweat, stay for the community.

How to prepare

-Arrive 15 minutes prior to your first class -Arrive 5 minutes prior to a returning visit -If you are late, you will not be permitted to participate in class -For Fight class: bring a pair of personal boxing gloves if you have them. If not, you can rent gloves for $3 -Sweat towels provided

How to get there

Bloc is located at 2400 Park Road Suite A in the heart of Dilworth. They are located in the same shopping center as The Famous Toastery and JT Posh - last business on the right before the turn. They have ample (free) parking.

PRIMAL FIGHT with Jamie
This class was a great circuit-based class, with a mix of boxing at one of the stations to incorporate the “fight” portion. My roommate and I attended the class together as first-timers. I was happy with the gym layout (cute plants, drinks), the form adjustments made by the instructor, and the high energy the instructor Jamie carried. The only negative note would be that my roommate noted that she had no adjustments and would often look over at me or others to try and figure out what was the correct form. This class would be a great supplement to an already existing workout routine, but it is also worth trying out others in the area to find your best style.

What is ClassPass?

ClassPass is a new kind of gym membership that grants you access to thousands of different classes at studios and gyms in your city and around the world.

Price of membership depends on your plan type and city, and you can book and explore classes ranging from yoga to barre to cycling to martial arts – the options are truly endless!

The number of classes you can take and the number of times you can visit a studio per month depends on which plan you're on. You can figure out which plan you're on by going to your Account Settings and looking under 'Your current plan.' With hundreds of studios in our ever-growing network, you're bound to always find a new class to enjoy. When your cycle renews, you can go back and revisit those favorites yet again!
