Reformer All Levels (Reformer/Tower Room)
see all reviewsWe had an intermediate class today since all of us have been attending for a while. It was interesting to switch things up. The thing I appreciated the most was the emphasis on stretching. I can never get enough stretching in!

see all reviewsHonestly this is my favorite class at Bodyrok! It’s the only megaformer class I can find in NYC to incorporate the jump board, which I really takes the workout up a notch. My only gripe with BodyRok in general is that there aren’t as many instructions on form, but Kristen was an exception. Having had rotator cuff surgery and tears in both shoulders, I really appreciated the options offered to modify each position to what works best for my body. Great class!

see all reviewsI think that it would be good if they switched up the moves a bit more - esp for ‘six packs and backs’ and did more creative combination Pilates type moves… lunges are fine but sometimes classes really tend to overwork the legs. I live in a 6 story walk up. I get enough legs!

see all reviewsSt. Mark’s Yoga has a beautiful space with a wide array of amazing instructors who have varied yogic training. It’s a great way to expose yourself to different yogic schools of thought and practices. Brian is my favorite instructor so far. He is funny and philosophical, and his classes are physically challenging and unique. I leave each class with a much greater awareness of my body’s abilities and limitations and a desire to learn more about the sources of his thought.

see all reviewsFirst time experiencing this core workout. Pace was slow and methodical but transitions are fast. Machines were easy to use and activated key muscles. The instructor made sure to guide the form as necessary. For a beginner like me, it was tough but a good burn. Will probably return another time!

see all reviewsJamie and Craig took it up a notch in this class! First timers - it's really challenging in the beginning but worth it to come back. It took me quite a few classes before I could completely follow a new routine. Plus routines are repeated for the following 2-3 weeks before a new one is taught.

see all reviewsGreat classical class with lots of stretching. Real ones who understand classical pilates - small, slow movements while utilizing core and stabilizing pelvis - will enjoy this class. If you want someone to yell at you while burning out your glutes (and probably using the wrong muscles), I’d try somewhere like solidcore or BodyRok.

Her class is always so challenging (but don’t worry if you are new) because the way she guides through the moves is very clear and she focus on your posture and which muscles should be turn on she talks through it clearly so you won’t get confused. Always sore the next day. Love her!

see all reviewsCoach Luis is great!! Welcoming, energetic and professional. His class was dynamic, the boxing & conditioning segments were challenging and totally do-able. We spent time on core & stability in-between the conditioning segments. The end of the class was spent one-on-one mitt work with Luis. When one person is working with Luis the rest of the class practiced the movements we learned in class on the heavy bag individually - this is pretty common in a boxing gym. Practicing the basics combos is invaluable, if you don’t execute the basics well you’re not going to level up so I thought this was great. Thank you!!!

see all reviewsI thought I was in shape until this class. I usually work out 3 days a week doing HIIT classes, but this one kicked by butt. Super fast paced class with no breaks.! Expect to do high reps counts of exercises like lunges, squats, deadlifts, rows, tricep extensions etc with weights in hand and cardio bursts of jumping jacks, high knees, burpees, skiers and squat jumps. FYI, no locks for lockers so you have to bring your own or find a place to stash it in the workout studio room. Class size tonight was around 25 people.

see all reviewsSuch a fantastic session with Dr. Maria Muto! She did a careful evaluation of all my issues, and helped me figure out the root of my longtime back pain and posture issues. Her adjustments were excellent, and my pain was gone after the session and hasn’t come back. She also gave helpful stretches, breathwork exercises and lifestyle advice that I can use on a daily basis. Highest recommendation!

Anna was subbing class. She is a great classical instructor. Very articulate. 30/30 reformer / tower. nice paced. i don’t love the leather/ wood handle reformers as they hurt a bit. i love that they don’t force you to wear socks which is how pilates should be done!
