I really liked this one, more than the other format I’ve taken here. The hour FLEW by and I was so zen by the end of it. The mats are tight in there though, the girl in front of me’s shoes almost hit me in the face a couple times when we were doing planks. A shout out from the instructor to spread out and not hit each other would be good!

Playlist was house/electronic and fire! I feel like I usually hear mainstream edm or pop, but this was a nice way to get lost in different music. Phew! What a workout! I usually find barre classes a bit boring since they all follow the same format, and to be fair, Physique 57 does too. First time, was the only one there at 7p (in btw Xmas and NYE, hence unusual attendance), but still a great experience. Cole still held class, made me feel super comfortable and had great energy / knowledge. Workout seemed oriented on a series of sets, usually with an EMOM anchoring the middle, not quite HIIT but there’s something in each set to make sure the heart rate stays up. Class would be tough if it’s your first time EVER working out, but still very accessible if you say do some dumbbell/kettlebell strength and cycling/HIIT type classes elsewhere - but want to extend your skill set w/ say basic lifting.

Great cardio and kickboxing class. Class stared off with an intense 10 min of straight body weight cardio and shadow boxing (jump squats, burpees, lunges, jumping jacks, mountain climbers etc). Then class was split in half. Half doing standard circuits (dumbbell renegade rows, box jumps and tricep dips, treadmill, rope pulls, med ball slams) whole the other half of class did different bag work combination stations- one station being with the instructor. Class ended with sit ups and dumbbell shadow boxing/lifts/curls.

Echoing everyone else’s reviews, this was one of the best classes and Ty was an amazingly welcoming teacher, especially for the newbies like myself who had never been to the studio or done Katonah yet. This was unlike any other class I’ve taken. It was restorative and yet challenging. Poses were somehow both relaxing and intense. I’ve never used 7 blocks and 3 blankets in one pose before.
