About this class

Welcome to Pole for Beginners Introductory Level, Start here if you have little to no experience or getting back into pole. This pole foundation class emphasizes 3 basic pole fitness concepts to ensure safe and strong pole journey ahead: 1. How to work the core central muscle groups necessary for pole fitness through simple exercises. Ex: baseball grips, knee tuck ups, and fan kicks.  2. Develop the proprioception of your body limbs necessary for pole fitness tricks. Ex: Pirouette turn to climb to invert.  3. Through repetition and drilling the foundational pole movements students will develop the muscle memory and coordination necessary.  Throughout the class, students will learn basic terminology to name movements.   *Shorts are required so your skin will grip the pole* *Absolutely NO jewelry because it damages our equipment*

How to prepare

To Prepare for Pole Play fitness dance class, Do not wear lotions or oils day of class. Do NOT wear or bring jewelry. Do bring shorts to wear because your skin needs to be exposed to grip the pole. To prepare for Aerial Hoop, Do not wear or bring jewelry. Do bring leggings, long pants, leg warmers, tights and long sleeve tops to protect your skin from aerial hoop abrasion. To Prepare for Find My Handstand or Flexibility, bring any fitness gym attire is fine. Do bring an open mind to partner work and body weight training.

How to get there

By MTA Trains: 4-5, 2-3 N-R trains at Borough Hall (3 minute walk) F, A, C Jay Street Metro Tech (5 minute walk) G, A, Hoyt Schermerhorn Station (6 minute walk) Arrive 10-15 minutes before class time. We do not accept late students. Questions? Call 917-365-3896 Email: Yoga.Pole.Nyc@gmail.com
