About this class

--FREE CLASS-- This class will not count towards your plan limit. This free workout takes place at Washington Square Park. Group will meet by the fountain. When we start the timer it is on! Short intervals of high intensity bodyweight exercises like burpees, pushups, situps, dips, and box jumps. This 30 minute HIIT workout will kick your butt and help you discover the balance between speed and strength. We pace ourselves through a Tabata-style interval workout. What is that? Timed intervals of exercises at maximum effort with short breaks to catch your breath. Add some variety to your routine and join us in a fun, group setting. This workout will challenge everybody. It doesn’t matter if you’re old, young, new, experienced, athletic, tattooed, ripped, stocky, hippie, clean cut, square, or hipster. Everybody is welcome.

Today we mixed it up with a dice workout: each of us rolled the dice and the two numbers determined the two workouts we did for that interval. I rolled a two and four so we did 4 rounds of speed skaters and high knees. Its amazing how long 20 seconds can feel ;)

Today was a very special workout! After the park, we headed to the Boardwalk in Coney Island for a second 30 min workout and a polar bear plunge (for some of us- I wasnt brave enough to do it this year!) in the Atlantic Ocean! Followed by the best breakfast of 2018 at Toms Diner. A terrific way to start the new year!!!!

We got to use the inside of the fountain today! We did stadiums (high knees where you tap the first step), decline push-ups (feet on the first step) and modified v-ups (crunches with feet on second stop). And that was just one tabata interval of seven! Had a full house at coffee afterwards at Oatmeals :)

The HIIT workout was 20 seconds of an exercise followed by 10 seconds of rest and we did that...a whole bunch of times :) Today's workout was full of different styles of burpees and push-ups! Pro tip: Make sure to join their group on Facebook so you can see the photos from the workout!

The weather was unseasonably humid but all of the high fives made the workout go by quickly :) Did 4 types of burpees, sprints, and other fun exercises for 20 seconds at a time!

What is ClassPass?
